Hello to everyone here in this great community known as the business activity happy weekend to you all. today I will be discussing with us a great topic which I have titled skill acquisition, a concept in business. looking back o how I started has given me this great insight to talk about skill acquisition. relax and stay calm while I drop my publication.
WHAT IS A SKILL

There are many definitions for the word skill, but in a nutshell, a skill can be seen as the ability to do a thing appropriately. a skill is mostly learned or gotten but it is quite different from abilities which are mostly innate actions.
So talking about skill, it is a particular activity that is learned and acquired through practice and consistency. now that we have known what a skill is, why not go down to the business of today.
WHAT IS SKILL ACQUISITION

Skill acquisition is a process whereby an individual learns to perform a thing to make a living out of it for survival. performing a particular task day in and day out. it is seen as learning practical know-how in new situations based on the previous experiences and abilities of an individual.
Skill acquisition requires total focus and submission and consistency. it requires great commitment and willingness. here is a brother of mine, he began learning to be a fashion designer when he was 10, I remember those when he used to ditch training just to play with friends, he never knew how important this skill was for him. and when he decided to pay attention and dedicate his whole time to learn it, indeed it has been fruitful and now he didn't just learn this skill just so he can design his cloth but he has made a business out of it.
Now he designs clothes for people, time after time he does get contracts to design uniforms and casual dresses. now he is one of the biggest designers in town. skill acquisition is highly recommended to all. getting a skill is an aspect of securing a brighter future. with the skill acquisition, one rests assured of a lifetime job. the most important aspect in acquiring a skill is that, you do not buy and sell, depending on your skill one can craft out something relevant to society and then sell those things that have been created. there are thousands of skills in the world and each of those skills has its importance in society.
There are various types of skills such as art, painting, fashion designing, tailoring, carpentry, and a lot more. now talking about the importance of skill acquisition.
IMPORTANCE OF SKILL ACQUISITION

There is various importance of acquiring a skill or skill and a few are listed below.
This is virtually the first importance of getting a skill. the rate at which white cola jobs are hard to find especially in a country such as Nigeria is quite alarming, and as such people have designed in acquiring a skill or skills to help them earn a living. so in a nutshell these skills are now cultivated and are made businesses in the sense that they render services to people and they get paid for their service.
An example of such is that, as a fashion designer, people do come to get clothes that are already designed or rather bring a type of design to be made by the designer, on the completion of such design, the designer gets paid for his services and that act is known as business. so skill acquisition is a concept in business and as such, it is part of a business. making money from rendering services through your skill to earn is called business.
Acquiring skills helps one to be sure of a better future, not relying upon government jobs is part of it. in Nigeria, it is so pathetic that numerous graduates are on the street in search of a job. but acquiring a skill will delete such a mindset, it will help you secure a bright future and give you a better source of income. with skill acquisition one is rest assured of a great future ahead with the aspect of utilizing such skills to get money is a factor that facilitates one to get a skill.
In the aspect of generating income, skill acquisition helps us to be economically self-sufficient. the skill acquisition helps especially young people to diversify their income and be independent. with this, the economy will take a new dimension. the ability of people to no longer depend on the government for jobs can boost the economy of a country. so getting a skill helps an individual to be self-reliant when talking about financial stability.
ADVANTAGES OF SKILL ACQUISITION
It promotes one to be self-employed. not depending on government agencies for a job in other to earn a living.
Skill acquisition limits the rate of crimes in the country, state, or locality. as skills are been acquired by young people, the crime rate such as arm robbery, theft, and all forms of ill-mannered behavior is reduced.
Skill acquisition promotes activities. it helps to keep especially young people busy and free from being idle. it helps one to be responsible and get everyone to his or her daily activities.
Skill acquisition promotes income generation. when money is been circulated in the country, that country experience growth in income generation, and as such everyone is actively involved with no one being left out. with this everyone comes together to create wealth for himself or herself and boost the economic value of such a country.
Skill acquisition promotes job creation. there is the availability of jobs when skill acquisition is embraced. no one gets to suffer as a different job are been made available in all ramifications.
DISADVANTAGES OF SKILL ACQUISITION
-Skill acquisition takes time to learn. I just gave an instance of my brother who started learning fashion designing right from the age of 10. it takes a lot of time to practice.
Conflicts between two enterprises. it may result in conflict when the same companies or enterprises are in the same location issues like getting customers can cause a problem between such enterprises.
In skill acquisition, the morale of an employee may be pulled down.
In skill acquisition, there may be problems related to the production and manufacturing of products. this is a result of poor or low material to use for accurate production and as such may halt production.
There may be low productivity in producing the needed product. this can be seen as fewer quality items are likely to be produced in cases like this.
CONCLUSION
In acquiring skill or skill, it is expected that the problems that have entangled it should be adjusted for the proper functioning of this field. acquiring a skill in other to produce items, goods, or services in exchange for money is a concept in business as though is termed business. so it is highly recommendable for one who does not have a business to go on acquiring a skill not because you want to do business but also to be self-reliant, boost the economy of the place you reside, earn a living from it, and also to secure a bright future per-adventure there is no government job as though it is so hard to secure these days.
