Good day my good friends in steemit business activity community, my name is Paul Ekeke. I am into road construction. It is my pleasure to have you all to my business and I. As an entrepreneur I will take you guys round my business from the base to the finishing. Please come with me let's go to the site.

As a civil engineer and entrepreneur, it is my job to make sure that every work at the site is done to the British Standard starting from the settingout and clearing as shown in the picture above, this process is carried out with bulldozer, and grader. After the site clearing the next thing I did is the drainage.

The drains invet level is given by the surveyor and blinding of 50mm with base 150mm concrete thickness casted with mixed design ratio of 1:3:6 and 1:2:4 respectively. The next thing that follows is the drains wall.

The wall of the drains is constructed by first making a formwork and casting in concrete, compacting the wet concrete with pocker vibrator, after 24 hours when it has set and hardened, then the formwork is removed, I adopted the method of first constructing drains before earthwork due to the weather and the raining season.

The earthwork is refers to the removal of unsuitable soil and filling with a specified borrowed materials (laterite). The soil is cutaway with excavating machine and the dump truck brings material from the borrowed pit. The material is spread and leveled in layers with the grader as shown below.

After the sub-grade, sub-base here come another course the base course which is the stone base. The designed thickness I used is 150mm compacted thickness, and insitu density test is carried out to check the moisture content and the compaction strength of the soil. See picture below.

Having done with the stonebase the next items is the spraying of MC1 and covering it with fine aggregate which is later swept out to lay asphalt which is the finishing course in a flexible road pavement. As shown below.

The construction of flexible pavement of road was done and dusted by me with my company named Papilo 1M and sons Nigeria limited. And it started from the site clearing to the asphalt level of 50mm compacted thickness.
