Clothes dyeing is a method that has been widely used for a long time, and it is a process in which the color of a garment is changed to make it look different and original.

Large companies use this method to dye fabrics to make their productions. At present it is very common for people to spend their money excessively at all times buying clothes because they are fast fashion garments that do not last long in terms of use, and this is on purpose, since, if we manufacture garments that we know that they are going to have little durability, people will have to resort to buying more frequently, very few people are aware of these strategies, however if we buy quality garments we would not have to buy so often.

It should be noted that not all people have the same opportunities to buy clothes frequently or that they do have it but do not want to spend their money only on clothes. This is where my business, comes in which I use dyes to restore faded or old clothing, to turn it into a wearable garment with bright colors, so that it looks like new. Offering my clients a pleasant experience with their garments and the most important thing of all, is that it does not affect their pocket, since for a restoration they would not spend even half of what a jeans costs, even if it is fast fashion.

These following images are taken closely so that you can appreciate very well the wear of color that these two pants have, that you no longer see a degraded blue but it is practically a pale color and that reflects dirt since when the jeans lose their color are usually seen some spots in yellowish colors, which make the pants look very horrible.

To start with the dyeing process of a jeans, you mainly need the dye, which, depending on the country has a different name, I use IRIS, we will also need a pot large enough to fit the jeans that we are going to dye without wrinkling them too much. , we will use salt and a wooden or metal palette with which we can stir from time to time.

When you buy a dye for clothes you can read the instructions that comes inside the package, where it explains in detail how you will do it, so anyone can do it from home, following these instructions, but like everything, it requires a lot of care and practice since you must act boldly and have several techniques, so that the jeans are evenly dyed.

If, for example, the jeans are like these that I am dyeing, which are not of a single uniform tone, then when dyeing it, it will be darker where it has dark tones and where it has light tones it will be lighter than the tone dark, that is, it will have the same gradient that it had, only with more vivid colors.

👩‍🎨 Enough water is applied in the pot and let it boil.

👩‍🎨 Plenty of salt is added.

👩‍🎨 The tincture is added and the flame is lowered to a minimum.

👩‍🎨 Stir to dissolve.

👩‍🎨 The previously moistened jeans or jeans are introduced completely, and without bending them until they are submerged.

This process lasts from half an hour to 45 minutes, depending on how dark you want the result, with a dye you can have from one to two pants, and if they are smaller garments from three to four pieces.

After our jeans are completely dry (shade dried), we can wear them. It should not be ironed and, when washing it for the first time, it is advisable to wash it alone or with some clothes that are dyed the same color, since they tend to lose a little dye in the first wash.

A dyed garment may last for years, as it may also last for months, and this is because the process has been done properly or not, although many factors also influence, such as the absorption capacity of the different types of textiles. But without a doubt, this restoration method will change your life.

In this other photograph you can see the already dyed jeans and although in this photo they look a little more different, with a slightly darker tone, the color of the real result is that of the previous photo, only in this photo had poor lighting.

The process of dyeing a pair of jeans requires the consumption of water, gas and salt, without including the cost of the jeans, it is for this reason that a standard price of $10 is attributed to it if I place the dye, however, this The price can go down if the client wants to bring the dye, although it will not go down much because the small dye, which is the one I use, costs barely a dollar. So it's worth it that I bear the cost of all the materials.
