Detecting an electrical fault - Spark plug wires.
This vehicle has an engine failure which manifests explosions, black smoke, instability at idle, high gasoline consumption and difficulty starting.
To identify the fault we had to remove the spark plugs to check their condition, then check the pressure of the gasoline pump, the gasoline filters, clean the injectors and oxygen sensors, then we checked the condition of the ignition coil.
After this procedure, the vehicle is started with the scanner connected, which indicates a fault code related to a cylinder turned off. Which tells us that we should check the spark plug wires.
This vehicle has 5 spark plug cables of which one goes from the coil to the distributor and from there the remaining 4 go to each cylinder. During the verification of the cables, it was observed that one of the cables was broken which generates a spark leak generating the fault. It should be noted that since one of the cables is in poor condition, it is necessary to change all of them in order to optimize the proper functioning of the engine.
In this case, it was necessary to carry out general maintenance since the initial failure was generated by the cables that consequently cut off the power supply to the engine cylinders, causing the engine to malfunction, generating residues that damage the spark plugs and injectors.
BUDGET.
The works that we carry out, we invoice it in dollars because it is the most stable currency, however, we also receive bolivars according to the dollar. In this case, the labor for this job has a cost of $ 50, in bolivars at a rate of 4,100.00 it would be 205,000,000 million, in Steem 96 and in SBD 7.8 approximately.
RECOMMENDATIONS.
It is recommended a preventive check every 6 months of the state of the components responsible for the combustion of the vehicle (filters, spark plugs, cables and fuel pump). Depending on the country where you are, these periods may vary. In Venezuela due to the current situation, these time intervals are shorter since the quality and conditions of the fuel supply are not the best. This greatly influences the operation and durability of these components, making the useful life of each one shorter.
