The musical form also called Kata is a set of movements in series, where the postures, positions, kicks, fists, and martial movements are evidenced in synchronization with the music and the weapons used.

It is important to note that we abide by the Wako Regulation (World association of kickboxing organizations) which is a worldwide organization that raises important criteria for the evaluation and presentation of these forms in competitions, taking into account the synchronization with the music, technique, balance, attitude, strength, focus on kata, degree of difficulty and mastery of the weapon. In most of the tournaments sponsored by this organization, it is taken into account if these forms handle synchrony with the music and the handling of the weapon.

Previously, there were traditional Katas in martial arts, however, over time weapons and music have been included within martial arts and vary according to the style that is practiced.

It has not been easy to include music in traditional kata as we previously practiced it, but the evolution and the demands in the different international tournaments merit it. And it has been a stir to see the exhibitions in competitions, the demonstrations of the technique, the elasticity and the coordination between the music and the martial movements, where most of those present are stunned by the show.

When we teach this kata to our students, emphasis is placed on teaching them the postures well, so that they look very showy when performed. However, when we incorporate music, as a Master of the academy, I seek to adapt the music to the idea that one has to demonstrate martial movements. Likewise, we listen to the music many times until we choose the rhythm that suits the kata beats, then we assemble the kata choreography, where we incorporate or remove blows, twists, and kicks. The important thing is that each movement has its meaning and correct execution, in this imaginary fight.

In musical katas more sensational techniques are performed than in traditional katas such as jump kicks, repeatedly kicking without lowering the leg, elasticity exercises, or even various acrobatic movements, with the intention that they are showy when demonstrated.

I can truly say that I am very proud of the work that has been done in these 27 years of work, where the perseverance and perseverance that I have had with the academy and in my career as a martial artist are evident. Seeing how my students remain as champions in their categories gives me satisfaction and commitment for them because they believe in themselves that they can achieve it, for my academy because it is worth continuing with the seedbed of champions and with my country because it is my We are proud to leave it up with the great potential that we have as a Nation.
