The book is located in more than 6000 Chinese passages and includes 13 chapters, each chapter devoted to one of the characteristics of war, considered for a long time a full reference to military strategies and means. It had a huge impact on military planning. It was translated in Europe two hundred years ago by the French preacher Amiot. The book played a role in influencing Napoleon, the German General Staff, and even in planning the Desert Storm operation. The book was an inspiration to world leaders like Mao Zedong. The book has been translated into 29 foreign languages. There are more than one Arabic version, the most important translators of which are Samir El-Khadem with the Dar Al-Rihani Foundation for Printing and Publishing, and Mahmoud Haddad with Dar Al-Quds.
