I'm @jebanikajeba, From Bangladesh. Today I am sharing with everyone some pictures and information about Nerium oleander. Nerium oleander flower is called Kobori in Bengali. Evergreen shrubs with red, pink, white, and yellow flowers are called kobori. But I have only seen pink flowers so far. Pink and red coloured Kobori flowers are called rakta Kobori.

These beautiful looking flowers are suitable for decoration anywhere and are widely cultivated as they can grow in harsh environments. These flowers can be seen in home gardens, balconies, flower tubs, roadsides, office premises. There are numerous trees of this flower along the road of our house. These flowers are planted along the side of the road.

I love to see these flowers while passing by the road. Pink colour is always a very favourite of our girls so the pink colour of this flower is my favourite. Anyone can pick up these flowers while walking on the street, there is no obligation. When I see this flower blooming, I pick some and bring it home and arrange it.

Kobori flower tree can be seen as an ornamental plant in various places all over Bangladesh. The Kobori plant grows in all types of soil. The branches of Koboriful tree can be propagated with the help of pen and chess pen. Moreover, the seeds of this flower also produce seedlings. Kobori trees take one year to reach maturity. The wood of the Kobori tree is quite strong and it has artistic utility as well.

The leaves and root bark of Kobori plant are useful for human benefit. It is effective in controlling various diseases such as leprosy, headache, rheumatism, gout, high fever, swelling of the eyes, bursting of boils, itching, prematured hair growth, etc.

All parts of this plant are toxic to most vertebrates because they contain cardiotoxic glycosides. There are many known cases of intentional and accidental poisoning of people with Kobori flowers. Poisoning mode is that the seeds are very sedative, paralysing and fatal. The plant is extremely toxic in all parts. Eating just one leaf can kill a person, especially a child.

There is no specificity of the kobori flower; this flower blooms almost throughout the year. Poets and writers have recorded about Kobori flowers in their stories and poems.
