Good afternoon Steemians friends.
This is the story of my trip two months ago with office colleagues, at that time we went on a trip whose purpose was to supervise the Serbajadi District, one of the goals there was to see the tourism potential of the Kuala Panggoh River in Alur Duren Village and the Terujak waterfall tour Fall in the village of Gampong Terujak.

The two villages are located in the Serbajadi District, East Aceh Regency. In the morning around 9:00 am we were at the office getting ready to go to Serbajadi District, but before that we finished some office work before leaving. Because the location we were going to was quite far, around 10.00 Wib we warmed up the car, and started traveling.

Serbajadi District is one of the most remote sub-districts in the East Aceh Regency which borders Gayo Lues Regency. The trip there takes about 5 hours. The location is indeed very far away, but we have to supervise there as a work responsibility to see tourism potential and monitor the development process of villages there that use Village Funds. Maybe this tourism potential can be developed using village funds.

We had a brief stop at the Peunaron Sub-district Mosque, after that we continued our journey, but before that we had made an appointment with our Village Facilitators who served in Peunaron District.

While waiting for them to come to the mosque, we lay down for a short rest on the floor of the mosque, then we both looked for a restaurant for lunch. After that we continued our journey to Serbajadi District.

Around 16.00 WIB we arrived at the Serbajadi District City. The journey is a little slow because the road to get here is still not on asphalt and many are damaged.

Kuala Panggoh River Tourist Attractions.

Serbajadi District is famous for its beautiful nature, here there is the Kuala Panggoh River where the water flows very clear and clean, and here there is also a Terujak Fall waterfall which is in the Versatile Forest.

This afternoon the companions there took us directly to the Kuala Panggoh River tourist spot. This river is not so deep, the water is flowing and very clean. We headed straight for the river. The distance from the sub-district office is only 15 minutes away.

According to Supriyanto, our accompanying friend there, the Kuala Panggoh river tourist spot is crowded with tourists to enjoy holidays on Sundays while other days it is crowded with local people for bathing. Currently, the Kuala Panggoh River bathing tour is managed by Alur Duren Village, which only collects tickets from each vehicle that comes as a parking ticket. One car pays Rp. 5000 only.

This river is very clear and clean, very visible flowing over the bottom of the pebbles. The natural beauty here makes us very comfortable to linger here. I saw that my friends were very engrossed in bathing in this river.

I didn't take a bath but I tried to take some photos about the natural beauty around this river. Towards sunset we returned to the Serbajadi Sub-District Head Office. Tonight we stay here at the Camat's house.

Terujak Waterfall tourist location

The next day, we returned to visit the location at the end of the Kuala Panggo river, apparently the river water was flowing towards the Terujak Fall waterfall located in the village of Gampong Terujak.

The distance is not that far, you just have to go into the Serbajadi forest a little. Its location is still in the interior of the Serbajadi forest, which is still included in the district of East Aceh. While on our way to the waterfall, we crossed a suspension bridge and then entered the forest, seen on the left and right of the road with green and tall trees. Natural trees, nice and beautiful.

But due to the weather at that time, we did not reach the end of the river where the waterfall is located, even though the distance was only 500 meters away. After lunch at the location of the waterfall flow, then we returned home because the weather was not favorable at that time. We promise to come back here to visit this waterfall later around November 2022

Conclusion

In conclusion, to get to this tourist attraction, visitors have to travel quite a distance, which is 128 kilometers from the capital of East Aceh, Idi Rayeuk. The direction of this trip starts from the Gampong Beusa intersection, West Peureulak District, goes to Ranto Peureulak District, then passes through Peunaron District, finally to Serbajadi District.

Then you have to walk along the banks of the river which sometimes climb rocks. This long journey is a bit tiring, but the tiredness will disappear when you see the natural scenery that is so enchanting and beautiful with unspoiled nature.

These two tourist sites have not been seriously developed by the East Aceh Regional Government because there are not many funds available so that the construction of various facilities is only carried out by the Village Government.

This is the story of my journey with office comrades to Serbajadi District to supervise the review of the Kuala Panggoh River tourism potential and Terujak Fall waterfall about the progress of village development there. A fun task trip while enjoying the natural beauty there and ending with an afternoon bath in the Serbajadi River.
