Earth Day 2023 - Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 9 | My Activities on Earth

Greetings dear friends,
I welcome you to week 2 of the steemit engagement challenge for season 9. It has been a wonderful week in week one of the challenges and today we are making entries for week 2. The topic to be considered here in this community is Earth Day 2023.

The earth is the inhabitant of all living beings and that includes man and animals hence it is our sole responsibility to see that we keep the earth clean and a place comfortable for our leaving. In this contest today, I will be answering the questions below to show how I contribute to the growth of the earth.

Climate refers to the change in weather conditions of any environment at any point in time. Climate change takes place on the earth as a result of the various activities done by men on the surface of the earth.

To honor mother earth for the things it has allowed men to do on it, a day was set aside that is April 22 every year to be a day to celebrate the Earth for the wonderful part it has played in the lives of men. This day is known as earth day.

Earth Day is a day set aside (usually 22 April) when people on the face of the earth support the earth by showing their activities for protecting the earth be it cleaning their environment, afforestation, and any other thing that will make the earth a better place.

These things are done to keep the earth in check and show our gratitude to mother earth for everything it has helped us to achieve. I always ensure every earth day I do the necessary to show my contribution to the growth of the earth.

As I have said earlier in the question above, I always ensure to do my best to perform my earth activities on the said day. For the main time, I was able to work as a community since I was under the umbrella of the NYSC.

The NYSC is a group of youth in Nigeria who have graduated and are serving their father's land. I was privileged to be part of them hence we worked as a group this time around.

During this period, we carried out a total clean-up in the area I was leaving. What we did this time was we swept the street and gutters and then also burnt the dirt we gathered.

The images you see above are the combined effort that was done by all corps members during that very activities. We all took out time to ensure the contribution to earth day by sweeping and cleaning the gutters.

Another thing to do to take care o of the earth is to reduce, recycle and reuse some of our products or materials. This is mostly for plastic and other things because they don't get rotten on time hence they can affect the environment if we are not applying the 3Rs I.e Reduce, Recycle, and Reuse

I don't travel much for tourists or sightseeing because of the amount these things cost. But occasionally, I travel out and while going I go alongside my bag which I ensure to keep everything that I will be needed or use inside it.

I do this because I don't like throwing things away on the road as it won't speak well about me. As someone who advises others to care for their environment, I have to leave by example. So even if I buy anything along the way and always ensure to keep the waste with me until I see where to properly dispose of it otherwise I take it home and dispose of it.

When adventuring in nature, all you need to do is to have a waste bag with you so that you don't throw away things that you are doing using how most especially plastic as it affects the earth greatly.

Also, ensure you don't keep quiet when another person is trying to harm the Earth by throwing things anyhow. Keeping silent means you are in support of the act. So always speak when things are not done properly.

Also, instead of cutting down trees in where ever you go, ensure you plant a tree anywhere you find your self even if it is on an adventurous journey. So doing this will help protect the environment.

As I have said, you can have a sack with you throughout your journey and put all unwanted items and then take them to where you will properly dispose of them. In doing this, you will help to keep the earth clean even when performing any adventure.

I'm hoping that the earth will one day be a perfect place where there will be no pollution of any type because of the various activities of men. With people taking care of the earth, we will have a pleasant environment where everyone will leave happy and care for nothing other than how the earth will grow.

I'm very certain that this can be achieved with the collective effort of everyone. All we need is to work in our little way to take care of our immediate environment and if everyone does that then we can have the earth as a perfect place. I'm hoping this will be achieved with time.

Earth Day which is the 22nd of April is a day that should be celebrated by all leaving on the planet Earth because we owe the Earth that duty. I have always contributed my quota to this celebration and I urge more users to do the same.
