Photo Gallery of Documentation and Peace Bridge at the Aceh Tsunami Museum

In the city of Banda Aceh there is a building in which there is a lot of history about the Acehnese people in 2004. To be precise, the history of the great tsunami that shook all the surfaces of Aceh. The building was built to keep objects that are still intact or found when the tsunami is over. The building is named the Tsunami Museum.

The museum was built specifically to tell the history of how the great tsunami in Aceh occurred. It also tells the story of the people of Aceh before the tsunami shook. If we enter the museum starting from the first floor or the dark alley, it is as if we have experienced the tsunami that hit the people of Aceh.

On the second floor there is a room in which there are many photos of post-tsunami, pre-tsunami, community activities before the tsunami. And there are also helpers from various countries who come to help Aceh, all of them are in the room. The room is better known as the photo gallery.

The photo was taken immediately at the time of the tsunami incident and after using the camera by professional photography, both below and above the air. It can also be seen how the condition of the Acehnese people at that time in the photo. This gallery was deliberately created with dim light shades so that those of us who enter the gallery can feel what the Acehnese people used to feel.

This photo gallery can also help visitors who want to know how the condition of the Acehnese people at that time. Because in each picture there is writing that tells directly about the picture. There are not only pictures in the gallery but also many paintings depicting the condition of the Acehnese people on the day of the tsunami but before the tsunami hit.

There are even paintings like story books that tell the life or atmosphere of Aceh after the tsunami was over. Each of the paintings in the gallery has its own philosophy. This gallery is also very suitable for us to take pictures because there is a large painting painted on the wall.

The painting is a picture of an animal in the forest when the tsunami hit. In the gallery, there are not only pictures and paintings that tell the history of the tsunami in 2004. There is also a monument table with writings that tell the story of the tsunami, even in the gallery there are also large trees that fell due to the tsunami.

After the gallery, if we keep walking we will find a bridge. The bridge is the exit from the tsunami museum. The bridge is named the Peace Bridge, why is it called the Peace Bridge?

This bridge has a philosophy that is where at the time of the tsunami the people of Aceh were confused to find relatives, family, even where they are now. Because if we look above the air after the tsunami, Aceh became flat without buildings, everything looks the same. As we were in the museum, we were confused because the atmosphere was dim, confused about where else to go, so we found the exit bridge.

Likewise with the people of Aceh who finally found a way of peace after the tsunami hit. Under the bridge there is a pond and large stones built along the way. The big stone has a philosophical meaning which means the countries that helped Aceh at that time and the stone was built by many petrified countries.

There are also many state flags on the peace bridge that helped Aceh during the tsunami disaster. Along the bridge we can see true peace. This museum is also visited by many tourists from abroad, and a tsunami museum guide is also available as long as we go around.
