Steemit Engagement Challenge Season 9 Week 2 - Earth Day 2023
Hi Steemians,
The environment is affected by human activities that result from the excessive consumption of natural resources that lead to disturbing the natural balance of the earth.
In this context, the Steem Travel community has organized a contest under the name of Earth Day, one of the contests of the 2nd week of season 9 in the Steemit engagement Challenge, to discuss what we think of this subject. I wish you a useful reading.
What do you know about climate action and earth day?
Earth Day is an annual opportunity to celebrate the planet through action by getting involved individually or collectively. Whether it's by sharing the campaign to raise awareness among your loved ones, by joining or organizing an environmental activity in your community or by making a donation to an NGO, each of us has a role to play in protecting the planet and the people who inhabit it.
This year, the theme "Picture a Better Planet" naturally invites artistic and intellectual mobilization. The organizers also call for the mobilization of artists, writers, and even scientists to launch “creative and cultured” initiatives. Conferences to rethink the future of human society, giant frescoes to allow children to paint on the theme of the planet or why not sales of works for the benefit of associations could see the light of this colorful edition.
Show your experiences or activities will that you do to take care of the earth for the better!
Some people always consider that the issue of preserving the planet and its natural resources rests on the shoulders of states and governments, not individuals, but have you ever thought about taking the initiative and starting with yourself, then those around you, and offering something that benefits and benefits your environment?
Your positive impact will be reflected on your environment, and you will become a good example to follow.. Well.. if you are convinced of the idea and your active role in it, then start from now, here are practical steps that will help you in your noble mission of preserving our planet:
Try as much as possible to use cloth bags and bags to carry your daily needs, and reduce the use of plastic bags because they harm the environment, and if they must be used, it is better to recycle them as soon as possible, and separate them from other waste in order to facilitate their recycling, and then not harm the environment.
Try to prefer your plastic waste over solid materials and glass, and make a dedicated box for each category, in order to make it easier for the municipality workers to separate it and then recycle it again.
Do not neglect your old paper, newspapers, magazines, invoices, and postal letters, as these are also recycled again, just dispose of them in a proper way, by separating them from the rest of your waste, and placing them in a designated box... But I have to You can cut letters Which contain account numbers, invoices and confidential papers so that they are not reused again.
Do not dump motor or motor oil and other chemicals on the floor; In order not to harm the environment, it is advisable to package and dispose of it in an environmentally sound manner by transporting it to the hazardous waste burial center.
Try as much as possible to plant trees in the area where you live, as green spaces absorb harmful carbon dioxide gases, and instead produce oxygen that helps you in the breathing process.
It is advisable to plant trees that do not require large amounts of water in the irrigation process to rationalize water consumption.
Show environmentally friendly products that you use when traveling or on adventures
The more I travel, the more I am aware of the pressing need to protect and preserve the nature that surrounds us. However, however you travel, it is not always easy to keep your convictions about respecting the environment intact.
When we are on the road, we sometimes tend to use what we have on hand for hygiene products. However, it seems important to me to be aware of the impact of these products on the environment. Their trace is not necessarily visible to the naked eye, but the products we use always end up polluting our planet in one way or another. And if it is even more important to use biodegradable products when you are in nature, this does not mean that you should not also use natural products at home or in places where the we travel (hotel, youth hostel, campsite, etc.).
This is why, for some time, I no longer use any commercial product. Shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste, cream… all my travel toiletries are now completely natural. There are many substitutes for the chemicals that we are used to using. For example, you can go to the hygiene section of organic stores and you will find everything you need.
Make sure the products are biodegradable before you buy them. If you find “organic” products too expensive, you can create your own natural products. As for dishwashing or laundry soap, there are many outdoor stores that carry concentrated biodegradable soaps made specifically for camping.
Share tips for protecting the environment from trash when adventuring in nature!
Plastic waste is almost inevitable today. As soon as you buy something, the packaging or part of the product ends up in the trash. When traveling, we often forget to pay attention to what we consume and what we waste. This was my case for a long time, because I gave myself the excuse that, being on the move, it was not easy for me to know where to buy in bulk or where to throw away the packaging to recycle it. However, adopting a few habits that can limit waste in large quantities is not so complicated when traveling.
First of all, you can avoid going to supermarkets where the products are over-packaged. For my part, I prefer stores that sell products in bulk. Markets or street food are perfect places for this. In some countries, bulk food stores are growing.
Then, it is really easy to avoid creating certain waste by equipping yourself with a few accessories. For example, traveling with a cloth bag avoids taking disposable plastic bags. Just like having your water bottle to fill, rather than using water bottles. In countries where it is not recommended to drink tap water, you can use purifying tablets or a water bottle with a filter. I also like to take a Tuperware bowl with me. It allows me to take bulk food anywhere with me.
Finally, if I happen to consume products with packaging, recycling then becomes my priority. Just ask the locals to find out where and how to sort… provided that the country in which you are has a recycling system!
Your hope for the future of the earth!
If in the past a person caused severe damage to his environment, this was done unintentionally and ignorantly, but at the present time he has no acceptable excuse after his environmental awareness has increased, and after he has complete knowledge and awareness of the actions that cause damage and deterioration of the environment.
And if the inhabitants of the earth continue to follow the path of their ancestors, then they will sin against the land and against their future generations. Every generation must hold itself accountable for the state of the land that it will leave to its children: Will it keep a clean place for their dwelling, clean air for their breathing, and sufficient food to nourish them?!
Will they be able to see songbirds flying in a clean sky, and animals running freely and safely in their natural habitat, and will they leave the forests to be a breather for the earth, and a savior for it from the accumulation of carbon dioxide? And to be the last refuge for wild animals and birds? And what can each generation do to avoid the earth's environment problems, and to help future generations to live in a good environment.
Thank you very much for reading, it's time to invite my friends @patjewell, @pelon53, @graceleon to participate in this contest.
Best Regards,
@kouba01
With the horrible experience I had the last few days I wholeheartedly agree with you. The more I travel, the more I see the need for urgent steps to be taken to save the world.
I don't think people realize that with the simplest of things they can make a difference.
I hope that "Picture a Better Planet" spoke to a lot of people this year.
As usual a great post! Good luck for the contest.
PS: I took you on and submitted and entry. (•ิ‿•ิ)

Surely I will read your participation and comment on it because I believe you have a lot to say in this subject, thank you for your kindly feedback.
Haha! Oh, you know me by now (•ิ‿•ิ)
@kouba01 I completely agree with you on the importance of protecting and preserving the environment, especially as we travel and explore different places. It's true that when we are on the road, we often rely on readily available hygiene products, but it's crucial to be mindful of their environmental impact.
Using biodegradable and natural products is a wonderful way to minimize our ecological footprint, not just when we are in nature but also in our daily lives. I applaud your decision to switch to completely natural travel toiletries. It's inspiring to see how many alternatives there are to the chemical-laden products we are accustomed to using.
Thank you for this lovely reading of my post, in fact we should individually try to change our lifestyle and our uses of any work to save our planet.
There are many ways how to protect our planet Earth. We must put ourselves as a model to our children we need to show them how important to us the preservation of our planet from pollution and other hazardous activities of human beings.
In fact, I completely agree with this point of view. Thanks for the comment.
Great explanations and tips, hopefully we can apply them together, so that our earth becomes a paradise for our children and grandchildren in the future
oh yes friends, I also participated in this contest, if you have free time, you can visit my post, thank you, good luck.
greetings from me @mulkanalvaro
Certainly, my friend, we must transcend our selfishness and think of future generations leaving them with a healthy nature as our ancestor did, thank you for commenting on my participation.
