Near this little lake, there is life!!
Hello dearest friends,
Several days have passed since I updated my blog and shared my daily activities, but now I finally have the opportunity to do so through this post. I want to tell you about my pleasant Saturday walk, an experience that gave me moments of serenity and contemplation.
I always go around the Berici Hills, but this time, I decided to start from a little lake located in Altavilla Vicentina, a very nice lake chosen as a picnic area during the weekends by many people from Vicenza who frequent the area. I parked my car there, and it was my starting point for my approximately 6 km journey towards the church of Altavilla Vicentina.
I chose a relatively short and easy route in terms of elevation gain because, since Saturday, Italy has been hit by a big African anticyclone, which brought temperatures close to 38 degrees, quite high for Italy, especially for northern Italy. Therefore, I tried to do something easy as the local emergency rooms have been overwhelmed due to the heat.
As soon as I started from the lake, which I must say is very lovely, I came across some beautiful swans, so I stopped to take photos. There were both white and black swans, and I had honestly never seen a black swan before. Anyway, there were quite a few of them in the area, and they probably feel comfortable in this habitat.
During my walk, I also came across ducks; there were many of them, both larger and smaller ones. I had been told that this place was full of wildlife, and I must say that it's true.
In the end, my walk lasted about an hour and 15 minutes, and after reaching the church of Sant'Urbano, I returned through a nice, naturalistic path, which was a bit poorly maintained in certain spots, but it was passable enough. One just needs to be careful because in some places, the grass was quite tall.
When I arrived back at the lake, I took one last stroll all around it because, despite its small size, there's the possibility to make a complete tour of the lake. I realized that there are also peacocks, an animal that used to be often found in villas but has now become wild and can be seen around. However, they are beautiful creatures and not aggressive.
I must say that with the heat, it was a truly challenging walk, but as usual, I enjoyed it because thanks to the contact with nature, I could relax and feel better.
Thank you for taking the time to read my post; I hope you found it interesting, and I hope you enjoyed the photos I took. See you for sure in my next adventure that I will share here.
Goodbye, everyone, and I wish you a good day.

Nice walk among beautiful nature! The lake is lovely, as you said, I absolutely agree. The greenery looks relaxing and I believe this can well release the heat.
The white and black swans and the ducks are cute. It's great to see them living freely there.
The church is beautiful with the wonderful scenery of the mountains.
Great shot! Thanks so much for sharing. ;)
