Today me and my friend Prosenjit woke up in the morning to market. He left for the market. We budget three thousand rupees for marketing. Within three thousand rupees we list to buy different types of vegetables and fish. We first go to Sahepratab autorickshaw stand from home. From auto rickshaw stand we left for Narsingdi sadar fish market and vegetable market.We reached Narsingdi Sadar through Rajnigandha Square and Municipal Square and reached Narsingdi Sadar Vegetable Bazar and Fish Market. First it takes ten minutes to reach Sahepratab Auto Stand from home. After about 15 minutes by auto rickshaw from Sahepratab Autostand we reach Narsingdi Sadar Vegetable Market and Fish Market. Distance from Sahepratab to Narsingdi Sadar vegetable market and fish market is 1. 5 kilometers.There is no car rental to reach the vegetable market and fish market from Sahepratab, 20 taka per person, we rent a car for a total of 40 taka. Then we reach Narsingdi sadar vegetable market and fish market.
Prosenjit and I entered the vegetable market first. I bought some vegetables from the vegetable market. I buy 2 kg brinjal, 2 kg spinach , 1 kg tomato, 3 kg kachur mukhi, 5 kg papaya, 5 kg potato, 1 kg Long bean, 500 gm green chili. Prosenjit purchases 1 kg of cauliflower and 1.5 kg of cucumber from his personal choice. Seeing Prasenjit I also buy 1kg cucumber.The vegetable market was huge. Making the vegetable market with a space of about 0.5 km. The vegetables were fresh and all the vegetables were picked today. The price of vegetables was a little higher today than every other day. We bought less vegetables because the price of vegetables was high. After buying vegetables from the vegetable market, we headed towards the fish market.
It takes 5 minutes to reach our fish market from vegetable market. Arriving at the fish market, we roamed the entire fish market first. See all the fish in the fish market and choose to buy. After wandering around for 15 minutes we like sheat fish. The fishes were very nice looking and of standard size. We ask the buyer where the fish was procured from.
Sheat collected the fish from Meghna river flowing through Narsingdi. Our interest is doubled by reading masti collected from the Meghna river. Then ask the price of the month to the buyer. The buyer is asking the monthly price of Tk 900 per kg. As the price of the fish is more than our budget. We failed to purchases the sheat fish. Then we move on to choose new fish.
After walking again for 15 minutes, Prosenjit liked a fish called Rohu fish. An uncle named Sabuj is sitting at the end of the market with the fish. We ask green uncle about the description of the fish. The Rohu fish was collected today from Meghna river. The fish looks very interesting. I asked the green uncle the price of the fish. The price of the fish is taka 450 per kg.We price the fish at 400 rupees per kg. The buyer sells the fish to us. The weight of the month is 2 kg 700 gm. The weight of the month is 1080 taka. We buy the fish by paying 1050 taka to the buyer. Then the Rohu fish is taken for slaughter.
We took the fish to Sushant uncle for cutting. Sushant Uncle's house is in Narsingdi Sadar Upazila. He is a member of a middle class family with five members in his family. He is a member of a happy family with two daughters, a son, his wife and three to five members. He has been doing this fishing job for about eight years. He is financially supporting his family with the money from this fishing. He cuts fish for Rs 10 per kg.
Sushant uncle praised us a lot for buying the fish. We have profited by buying the fish. The fish will be delicious to eat. Then Uncle took 15 minutes to finish cutting the fish. There are 31 pieces of fish. I get about 100 grams of eggs from the stomach of the fish. The fishes pack the pieces and the fish eggs in a Pod. We bid farewell to Sushant Uncle with a total of Tk 30 per kg and a tip of Tk 10 per kg for harvesting our fish.
We collect all items purchased from vegetable market and fish market at one place. Prasenjit brings an autorickshaw. We came home with all our goods in auto rickshaw. The autorickshaw driver is paid 60 rupees. Then all activities in our market are completed here.
