Hello friends , hope you are all fine. Today I choose to write a task about steem Travel community which about a best tourist place in your city.

Introduction - Name; Location & Transportation.

I am from the northernmost district of Northern INDIA. Kashmir is my home state and our state has global recognition for its tourism. One of the famous poets while praising the beauty of Kashmir once said :

Agar Firdaus bar roo-e zameen ast, Hameen at-o Hameen at-o Hameen ast.

If there is a heaven on earth, it’s here, it’s here.

The beauty of our state as a whole lies in vast modes of tourism ranging from natural recreational tourism to pilgrimage, spiritual, sports and adventure tourism. To be specific, we have a very classic tourist destination in my hometown asn that is known as GULMARG. As for the geographical location of this place is concerned its located in the pir panjal range of Western Himalayas.

This place is visited by millions of foreign tourists every year. GULMARG is easily accessible as private as well as public transport is available to reach there. Foreign passengers who wish to visit this place can book their cab inside the airport which would drop them at a cab station to the tourist destination. It is also accessible through public transport taken from central Kashmir to North Kashmir.

Public facilities/cost/uniqueness

As mentioned earlier that this place is visited by millions of tourists every year because it is a perfect tourist destination as for transportation, food and accommodation, adventure and sports are concerned. Besides private and public transport, there is proper food and accommodation. There are hundreds of hotels and restaurants to serve food of every type and provide accommodation. In addition, there are facilities for accommodation in the form of huts provided by the government where tourists get every facility like a mess, washroom and sleeping areas. The cost of food and accommodation depends upon the facilities availed by tourists. It may range from 20$ to 100$ or even more.

Gulmarg is famous for its natural beauty. It is a lush green valley surrounded by dense forest cover. The place is well maintained by the development authority. There is a Cable Car project to carry passengers into the mountains to an altitude of about 16000 feet It's a two-stage adventure ride where the first halt is at an altitude of about 9000 feet and the second half is at 16000 feet. About 7000 people ride cable car every year. The cost of flying by cable car is $10 and 20$ for the first and second stages respectively.

As for its sports tourism is concerned, Gulmarg stands at sixth position in the world for winter sports and popular sports being Snow Sking, robbogaming and snowboarding. There is also a public golf course within the lush green valley at an altitude of about 2500 metres which is also known as the highest green golf course in the world.

Besides recreational and sports tourism, the place has religious importance as it harbours Mata Rani temple and St. Mary Church that are frequented by Hindus and Christians.

I have recently seen a Palace there by the name of Maharaja place. It is so called because our state was ruled by a king named Maharaja Hari Singh. The palace gives an insight into the rich heritage of our state.

The uniqueness of the tourist destination lies in its comprehensiveness as tourists find it affordable and have every facility ranging from various forms of tourism to food, accommodation and transportation. I would rate this place as 4 out of 5. I think there is still scope for improvement. I think the revenue generated from the said tourist destination is not properly utilised otherwise it would be the world's best tourist destination.

Conclusion

Ours is a state with rich fauna and flora so much so that we have got a world wide recognition. Being surrounded by scores of tourist destinations, I choose to write about a particular destination for its comprehensiveness in terms of everything that a tourist needs at any foreign location.
