The first stop on my Tuscan holiday : BARBERINO VAL D'ELSA!

In today's post I would like to tell you about the first tap of my short holiday I spent in Tuscany, actually I took the opportunity to visit a dear cousin of mine whom I had not seen for a long time.
I visited many villages in Tuscany, but the one I want to introduce you to today is called Barberino Valdelsa and is located in the beautiful Tuscan countryside of Chianti, famous for its vine cultivation.
I began my exploration in this village by entering through the main gate of the town, which leads to Siena and is practically south and from that entrance you enter its wonderful streets.
One thing I like so much when I go exploring these villages is to wander through the narrow streets and photograph every detail that catches my eye.
The peculiarity of this jewel of a place is that it sits on top of a hill practically amidst olive groves and rows of vines in total tranquillity just a handful of kilometres from the more famous city of Florence.
Strolling through these streets, I came across a nice sign that let's say encouraged people to drink since the area is famous for its wine.
In these areas if you don't drink a few glasses of wine they almost take offence because there are so many wine cellars.
On my little tour, I saw beautiful, well-kept arcades and photographed many houses that have been meticulously restored in a way that takes you back in time. The development of this town was due to the fact that Barberino is located right on the Roman road that connected Florence to Rome, so a large part of the trade routes passed through this village and this determined its development.
This that I photographed is the church of San Bartolomeo let's say the main church of Barberino was modified in the 1900s in neo-Gothic style but I could not visit inside because it was closed.
Among other things, I also found the tourist office was closed, which in my opinion is inconceivable, being right at the height of the tourist season.
I have not seen any museums in this place also because I think that most of the material found here has been sent to the larger museums in Florence.
In the end I can say that I liked it as a village very characteristic and very quiet you can see that it is a place less visited by tourists in general but definitely worth a visit because there are many things characteristic of the place I hope you liked my photos follow me because I will certainly put up more photos of Tuscany.
