Travel Post | "General Tomás de Heres" Airport of CBO
Ciao dear travelers!👋🏼
I want to take the opportunity of all from you to know about the airport that finally started officially their operations on flights (specifically in the month of April), where they were forbidden for a pair of years due to the coronavirus pandemic. Located next to the Ruiz Pineda Park in the Republic Avenue in CBO, it's a modest place in fact because the international one is placed in the city of PZO which is more economically important, but it's nice to find a replica of the airplane of Jimmy Angel, the pilot who popularized the famous Angel Waterfall in 1933, the biggest one at the entire world, so in his honour it took this emblematic name. Despite of the fact that is a group of small constructions plus a huge main operational wirehouse, the facades are combined in a pair of colors like red and white, which is a perfect combination for an aeronautical institution like this airport.🎯

This airport consist in a reception with corridor and a waiting room where passengers can stay for a long time while they're waiting for their flights. Of course there are enough metallic seats for this important purpose and for sure there are little stores for buying typical souvenirs but the most are closed and empty right now.😕

Rutaca Airlines is the unique one that works in my local city to connect to the capital located in Caracas. Their stand is at the bottom of the place and a ticket plane from CBO to CSC and viceversa may costs 30$ without the airport fee of 18 Bs. or 3$ in cash (11 Steems). Frequency of flights are scheduled at 6 AM once per week on Saturdays (CCS-CBO) and Sundays (CBO-CCS) and duration between cities is just almost an hour: only 50 minutes. For sure the destination is the International Airport of Maiquetía Simón Bolívar.🛫

In one of the available hangars that are working in the airport, I could fin a pair of technicians doing the necessary maintenance and repairing to keep these planes operatives for the sake of security among the passengers.🔧

There's not enough traffic of flights indeed right now, but this awesome place has its own planes which are belonging to this local airline Rutaca C.A. So, it's amazing to watch them and imagine that very soon I'll be boarding them to start exploring more interesting spots.
