Sate Apaleh is famous throughout Aceh. The delicacy served, makes the visitors addicted. If the users of the Medan-Banda Aceh road passing through Geurugok do not take the time to stop at this culinary place, they will feel sorry. That is the view of the community regarding the presence of Sate Apaleh in Gandapura.

This satay has been around for almost 26 years, but the famous Sate Apaleh Geurugok began in 2000, which is located on the Medan-Banda Aceh cross, Geurugok Village, Gandapura District, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province.

With a very country location, officials from various regions gathered. Just stop by, enjoy the famous satay.

When visited by the Acehnese, Wednesday (16/6), the owner of the Sate Apaleh Geurugok merchandise, M Saleh admitted that he had ups and downs as a satay seller during the conflict raging in Aceh. But with his persistence, now M Saleh or known as Apaleh's sabutan, can survive a day of one cow with a meat weight of 150-200 Kilograms. Even on weekends, it can be as long as 2 to 3 cows.

"Father can range from 9-10 cows in one week. That does not include Eid holidays or days off. Meanwhile, on Eid day, father can grow more than 5 oxen in one day,” said Khairil Afzal, one of M Saleh's sons.

Currently, M Saleh admits that he has 6 carts on the sidewalk along the shophouses in the capital city of Gandapura, but he has no intention of buying roko at all. In fact, M Saleh prefers to sell street vendors by paying rent to shop owners every day. Thus, the benefits obtained, can be felt by shop owners as well.

"There is no desire to buy my own shophouse, even though Allah swt has launched this culinary business. We invest more for the purpose of the afterlife, with every profit from the trade, donated to build a dayah in the yard of the house," he said.

The Dayah, has been established for almost 3 years. Meanwhile, most of the students are orphans and the poor. They are free to eat and given pocket money every week.

“This business belongs to God, it's just that it was entrusted to us to fulfill our lives and to help others. If we intend to save the hereafter, all efforts will be carried out by the khaliq," said Khairil, who is also the current manager of the Sate Apaleh culinary.

For residents who are curious about the delicious dish of Sate Apaleh, don't forget to stop by when crossing the Medan-Banda Aceh road, Keude Geurugok. Buying the satay is the same as helping the orphans, the needy and the poor in taking the dayah education. (ah)
