Even after many years here in Japan, I still find so much that amazes and impresses me. Sometimes because it is so exotic and mysterious, as it can only occur for me in Japan. Other times because it's so colorful, flashy or playful, and it also seems like it can only be found in Japan. Of course, other countries can come up with other cities, but I'm stranded here in the Land of the Rising Sun, and so my fullest attention right now belongs to this fantastic country over here.

And it's nice that even after a few years, some things still amaze me and make me smile. Boredom is something I can't handle, and especially at the present time I'm very grateful for a bit of change and cheer. And that's why it was just in time for me when, while driving through the city center, I was suddenly confronted with a completely unexpected sight. I've certainly driven along this area and this street a few times before, but somehow I hadn't noticed it until now. But the upper floors of one of the houses at the roadside were quite uniquely shaped and designed, even though it somehow fits exactly to this country .

A shopping bag. On the one hand, it could not be more appropriate, because shopping seems to be many people's favorite hobby. And here in the city center with all the many small stores vying for attention and customers, you just have to stand out from the competition in one way or another. Even if they could have come up with a little color, for a moment I was quite taken with this original idea of decorating one's house.

How beautiful our city and its houses would look if all buildings were so fabulously designed. Shopping bags, flower pots, beer bottles - there is no end to the shapes and ideas. This would finally dispel the uniform gray that we still encounter on many corners in Japan and it would probably also improve the mood of the city's inhabitants.

A beginning has been made, and I liked it!

And on the next trip, I'll continue to look closely to not miss the next highlight. And I'll be happy to report and show it to you!

Auch nach vielen Jahren hier in Japan finde ich noch so vieles, das mich verwundert und beeindruckt. Manchmal weil es so exotisch und gemeimnisvoll ist, wie es für mich nur in Japan vorkommen kann. Ein anderes Mal, weil es so bunt, auffällig oder verspielt ist, und es scheinbar auch nur in Japan vorkommen kann. Natürlich können andere Länder mit anderen Städten aufwarten, aber ich bin nun einmal hier im Land der aufgehenden Sonne gestrandet, und deshalb gehört meine vollste Aufmerksamkeit im Augenblick nun einmal diesem fantastischen Land hier.

Und es ist schön, dass mich auch nach einigen Jahre hier im Lande noch so einiges verwundert und zum schmunzeln bringen kann. Langweile kann ich nicht gebrauchen, und gerade in der jetzigen Zeit bin ich über etwas Abwechslung und Aufheiterung sehr dankbar. Und deshalb kam es mir vor einiger Zeit genau recht, als sich mir bei einer Fahrt durch die Stadtmitte auf einmal ein ganz unerwarteter Anblick bot. Ich bin diese Strecke und diese Straße bestimmt schon einige Male entlang gefahren, aber bisher war es mir irgendwie nicht aufgefallen. Aber die Obergeschosse eines der Häuser am Straßenrand war ganz speziell geformt und gestaltet, wie es aber doch auch genau wieder zu diesem Lande passen tut.

Eine Einkaufstüte halt. Auf der einen Hand geht es gar nicht passender, denn Einkaufen scheint vieler Menschens liebstes Hobby zu sein. Und hier in der Stadtmitte mit all den vielen kleinen Geschäften, die um Aufmerksamkeit und Kunden buhlen, muss mansich halt auf die eine oder andere Art von der Konkurrenz abheben. Auch wenn man hier ruhig noch ein wenig Farbe mit ins Spiel hätte bringen, war ich für einen Moment ganz angetan von dieser originellen Idee, sein Haus zu verhübschen.

Wie wndervoll würden doch unsere Stadt und ihre Häuser aussehen, wenn alle Gebäude so fabelhaft gestaltet wären. Einkaufstausche, Blumentopf, Bierflasche - der Formen und Ideen gibt es doch kein Ende. Das würde das viele Einheitsgrau, welchem man auch in Japan an vielen Ecken begegnet, endlich vertreiben und wohl auch die Laune der Stadtbewohner ordentlich verbessern.

Ein Anfang ist getan, und mir hat er gefallen!

Und bei der nächsten Fahrt schaue ich weiter genau hin, um nicht das nächste Highlight zu verpassen. Und ich berichte und zeige es euch gerne!
