A very late last swim in the sea =/= Ein sehr spätes letztes Bad im Meer 👹🍣🎎 Wonderful Japan ENG-GER

Oh yes, I really did make it. I hadn't expected to, but in the end I took what was probably my last chance and went down to the beach and jumped into the waves one more time. The weather was just too inviting and it's not that often you get 20 degrees and beautiful blue skies in November, so I just couldn't refuse.

We had similar weather a few days ago and I had already ventured to the water that day as well, but I had been completely unprepared and of course had neither swimming trunks nor a towel with me. But this time I had planned ahead and everything was ready for us and waiting in the car. At first, I wasn't quite sure whether I would really dare to go for a swim, as the swimming season here actually ends in September, when it starts to get too cold for getting into the water. But due to the long, hot summer, the water temperatures are higher than they usually are, and when the sun plays along, you just have to give it another go.

Oh ja, ich habe es wirklich geschafft. Damit gerechnet hatte ich schon gar nicht mehr, aber letztendlich habe ich die wahrscheinlich letzte Chance ergriffen und bin noch einmal runter an den Strand und in die Wellen gesprungen. Das Wetter war einfach zu einladend und so oft bekommt man im November keine 20 Grad und wunderbar blauen Himmel geboten, da konnte ich einfach nicht ablehnen.

Vor einigen Tagen hatten wir bereits ähnliches Wetter und an jenem Tag hatte ich mich auch bereits ans Wasser gewagt, war aber noch gänzlich unvorbereitet gewesen und hatte natürlich weder Schwimmhose noch Handtuch dabei. Aber diesmal hatte ich vorgeplant und alles lag im Auto. Zuerst war ich noch nicht ganz sicher, ob ich es wirklich wagen würde, denn die Schwimmsaison endet hier bei uns eigentlich im September, wenn es dann langsam zu kalt zum Baden wird. Aber aufgrund des langen heißen Sommers sind auch die Wassertemperaturen noch höher als sie es sonst sind, und wenn die Sonne dann auch noch mitspielt, muss man es doch einfach noch einmal wagen.

And there I was, standing by the water and in the water, and at first I was still wondering whether it would really be a good idea to get rid of most of my clothes and jump into the waves. But in the end, there was no excuse not to do it. The world belongs to the brave!

Und da stand ich nun am und im Wasser, und zuerst war ich dann doch noch am überlegen, ob es wirklich eine gute Idee wäre, mich jetzt der meisten meiner Sachen zu entledigen und in die Wellen zu springen. Aber letztendlich gab es keine Entschuldigung, es nicht zu machen. Dem Mutigen gehört doch die Welt!

Of course it was a bit chilly at first, but I quickly got used to the water temperature. It was a wonderful feeling to plunge my whole body into the water again and let myself drift a little in the sea. After about ten minutes, I was refreshed and felt like I'd had enough. The sun above me immediately warmed me up again and I just felt great.

Klar war es zuerst etwas frisch gewesen, aber ich hatte mich dann schnell an die Wassertemperaturen gewöhnt. Es war ein wundervolles Gefühl, mal wieder mit dem ganzen Körper ins Wasser zu tauchen und sich vom Meer dabei auch ein wenig treiben zu lassen. Nach ungefähr zehn Minuten war ich genug erfrischt und hatte genug. Die Sonne über mir wärmte mich sofort wieder, und ich fühlte mich einfach großartig.

I wish every November day was like today! But as we can already see, this was probably the last day for a while that the sun has produced such a wonderfully blue sky. The weather will change in the next few days and then November will show its normal side. But my jump into the water was a great way to end this year's beach season and I'm taking these impressions and feelings with me into the colder and darker season. With sunshine in your heart, I will be able to get through the next few weeks and months without any problems. And even if it gets a little less comfortable now, I will still be popping down to the beach from time to time. After all, getting some fresh air is great too....

Ach wäre doch jeder Novembertag so wie heute! Aber wie bereits abzusehen ist, war dies wohl der letzte Tag für eine ganze Weile, an dem die Sonne einen so wundervoll blauen Himmel produziert hat. In den nächsten Tagen wird das Wetter umschlagen und dann wird sich der November von seiner wohl normalen Seite zeigen. Aber mein Sprung ins Wasser war noch einmal ein großartiger Schlußpunkt unter die diesjährige Strandsaison und ich nehme diese Eindrücke und Gefühle nun mit mir in die kältere und dunkle Jahreszeit. Mit Sonne im Herzen kommt man ohne Probleme durch die nächsten Wochen und Monate, und auch wenn es nun etwas ungemütlicher werden sollte, werde ich doch ab und zu am Strand vorbeischauen. Frische Lust ist nämlich auch was tolles....
