Strange Mary Case

It was up to her to investigate how the accident really happened. It is a deep well to penetrate when you have a situation in front of you where the feeling of the family is pressing and the truth has to be shown with tweezers.

Olivia knew that all was not clear and the voice of her conscience whispered to her to be careful because it could touch her to decide between her head and her heart.

One person was missing. Some say that a man was with her in the van, supposedly Richard, her husband. The accident occurred only minutes after they left the house, colliding with a parked construction truck, which was serious, but at least there were no deaths.

"At what point did Richard leave?" murmurs Olivia at the scene of the accident, determined to find the logic behind the man's disappearance.

Mary doesn't even remember being in the vehicle. Amnesia? Selective memory? Very convenient, but leaves reasonable doubt. When a traffic accident occurs under strange circumstances, you have to scratch the surface, and there seems to be murky water here.

Mary was his cousin. They grew up together. They had time not to see each other, but the affection was intact. She decided to investigate when she heard that there was something strange about the accident she had a few hours ago because they say there was a man and he didn't show up.

Richard neither show up. She called him on his cell phone and at work and nothing, his phone was off and at work, they said he didn't show up for work. The woman in the service said she saw a man in the van and assumed it was him, but she remembered that she didn't see him at night or in the morning at home.

Who was the mystery man and where was he? Either someone was lying or there was a mystery to be solved.

She went back to the hospital. She had to support her aunt and help her cousin. The best way was to clear up the event. Mary insisted on not remembering anything. The aunt said that Richard and Mary were no longer together, that she wanted to separate... But who was with her, then?

She undertook a more detailed search of every clinic and medical center in the city and found one. He hadn't been reported because he was brought in passed out and had no papers. Supposedly, he did not remember the accident at first, and it was not until he saw Olivia that, with tears in her eyes, he asked for Mary, suspecting the worst. He told her that he was in the back of the van, but she didn't know and hadn't seen him when she noticed his presence she didn't recognize him, she got scared and lost control of the vehicle, she didn't feel any impact, but she saw a strange mist, she had just woken up when she arrived. He told her that he was crazy trying to get his wife back, he didn't sleep in the house, but in the van, because she didn't want to see him.

Then, Olivia put the pieces of the puzzle together and discerned that there was nothing murky, apparently. Richard's story was consistent with the facts and assumptions, Mary didn't remember Richard in the van because he wasn't really with her when she boarded it, suddenly seeing an alleged stranger in the vehicle shocked her to the point of losing control and crashing, the mental block is there in these cases, not only because of the blow to the head but because of all the stress she suffered. It was not known why they were taken to different hospitals and what he could establish was that two ambulances showed up at the scene and each one left for a different place, without prior agreement.

There was no police chase, no crime, no kidnapping. It was not a crime of passion as some were assuming. Strange? A little, but not incongruous. Olivia, from the Police Center, took on the task of clarifying the situation that did not require her intervention as a detective, but helped to silence the rumors that the press had spread about the "Strange Mary Case".
