No way to get home

The biggest fear of a parent?
Ending up in the middle of nowhere with little children in a broken car and no way to get home.
I say it's my biggest fear but it's not a real fear. Fear is for what might happen under certain circumstances if and when, or with a perhaps and what more the brain can think of to make the misery complete. A misery a parent didn't count with and suffers more from than little children.
Children are great flexible creatures who don't care too much. They get into the car, any car, sit strapped to their seats sing songs, eat, fight, sleep and know it will all work out fine even if the journey takes longer as they had in mind or mom said it would take. As long as the daily routine is respected there's no need to doubt the parent's superpowers or have second thoughts about why the car suddenly stopped in the middle of a highway in a snowstorm and the phone is without any reach.

Mom solves each problem, she always does. Together in the car is comfy and there's extra chocolate for all (meant for those cases in need) and it's not cold at all. The car is not different from the own crib or mom's bed. A safe place and for fun.
Just like dogs and many animals children are used to the noise of traffic passing by even if it's with over 130 kilometres an hour. They don't care these car drivers won't stop to give a hand which isn't different from the hand of the expensive road service. A road service that tells you the place you ended up doesn't exist even if they can track you down. They let you die if no one else gives you a lift or... the new damned Citroën suddenly decides to start if you try it again once the chocolate is finished. Those stupid electronics needed to get you out of that dangerous place where only idiots stop in case of emergency.
