FIRST CONTACT - (THE UNLOVED SERIES)

The days passed slowly, Leaving the man anxious, nervous and angry. He was angry at a lot of people but mostly at himself. His deliberate refusal to learn about her past even when she offered to tell him about it; his blind trust in his so-called 'friend' though he knew that the man wasn't the good kind. Now the woman of his dreams and life was God knows where and he was dipping his feet in an acid pool to fix his mistake. But his saving grace came in the form of a woman. She was an old fling that thought he scammed her but ended up finding out that he fixed her problem weeks before they met. So when she walked into his house to find it a mess and the man bent over his dining table with documents scattered around him, she saw a chance to repay his help. A cup of coffee, two plates of home cooked meal and a lot of cohesion later, the man finally tells her about his mistake and problem. That's when the woman reveals that she is connected to the most powerful cartel in the city. A quick call brings the man face to face with this woman's favorite Uncle: the Head of the Bratva. Deals are made, Contracts are drawn up and the man, true to his profession and passion, makes himself immediately indispensable to the Mob; gaining the most powerful backer the city has to offer. Next, he rekindles his ambition to be his own boss, opening his own company with the Mob as his first client. The company he landed a deal with previously was shocked at the development but a few private talks later became his second client further increasing his standing among the social elite and giving him more confidence for what was to come.
The last three days were a blur. The man had worked so hard, so fast that he almost forgot about the meet. On the fateful day, he woke to see his 'Friend' in a Silver suit waiting outside his mansion with a half cigar in between his lips and a smug face. the man opened the door slowly, his rage hidden behind the professional façade he had developed over the years. His 'friend' walked in with the Italian Mafia and the man's very remorseful “wife” tied up and led by a mysterious woman with a veil. Unknown to the man's friend that his machinations had been revealed and he was being sentenced as a black sheep to be discarded and also that the mysterious woman was sent to do that, he proudly begins to gloat and goad the man, but this is just the beginning as an hour later, the man's 'friend' lies before the man; very dead and the mysterious woman introduces herself as she lifts the veil covering her face. She offers the man his wife’s life in exchange for his loyalty to the Mafia. But the man is not fooled. Because His 'wife' seems to have lost her wedding ring and doesn’t even have the skin mark to show she’s been wearing the ring for the 6 years they’ve been married. Thus a new meeting is set up, with a twist as the mysterious woman finds out from the gun pointed to her back head, the Bratva doesn’t like one of their own being threatened, so the mysterious woman and the man's supposed “wife” are taken as compensation to be broken and used as the man’s minions while the Mafia will return the real wife in four (4) days time or risk losing everything.
