CONTEST: A Picture is Worth a Thousand Words - 7/16/2021

Liam's dad lived in the village and, instead of money, often sent to Liam, who studied in the Art Academy, produce: fruits, vegetables, or a couple of dozen eggs.

Liam didn't know what to do with all this food, as he lived in a tiny apartment and couldn't fit dad's gifts in his refrigerator.

"Dad, please don't send me anything perishable!"

Next, this time Liam's dad sent him a twenty pounds bag of coffee beans. Liam distributed it in different plastic bags all over his apartment, but the last small portion he had to put in a cup that he placed on the very top shelf of kitchen cabinets.

Preoccupied with his studies, Liam forgot about the content of the cup.

A couple of years later, he was looking for an idea for a still-life artwork assignment. Searching his entire apartment with his eyes, he noticed a cup standing on the top shelf.

"Let me get it. I wonder if I can use it?"

He stretched out on his tiptoes, reach for a cup and saucer, but barely, and when he pulled on the objects, they became unstable in his hands. He could balance it enough for them not to get broken, but when the cup and the saucer finally reached the surface of his table, the cup turned on its side, and most of the coffee got scattered on the black cloth covering the table.

"What a great natural composition for a still life!" he thought.
