I am so happy that you joined the Freewriters. Btw, there are several of us who have written a novel by using the daily prompt to move the story forward. Good luck!

That's great, @mariannewest. Is the daily prompt another Community? Point me in the right direction because I'm not familiar with it. Thanks for the comment!
The daily prompt is what got the Freewriters Community started and also the @freewritehouse. Since I started it on my blog, I keep publishing it there every day. We are at day 812 right now. :)

I usually publish around 7 am Pacific time.
On Saturdays(my Saturday), we mix things up a bit and people have the choice of any previous prompt or to write one story with three prompts that are revealed separately. The idea is that you don't know what the next prompt will be and pivot the writing to it.
The last two years, we did November madness and March Madness. For NovemberMadness, we used NaNoWriMo as our word counter and the daily prompt to bring the story forward. The goal was to write 50,000 words in one month. Several ended up with a novel they published after editing of course.
Please do check in on my profile any time you feel like writing - the prompt also shows up in the community if you want to find it there.
