Blond Curls - A Freewrite

Blond curls have been my dream - for a long time. When I was little, I was super blond, almost white in the summer when I spend all my days outside in the sun and whenever possible, near the water.
Then, I wanted long hair since, for practical reasons, I had short hair. My mom had 5 kids and I am pretty sure that one would have been enough in her book. But those were the days before birth control and the average person knowing what to do about babies or rather not to have them.
So, she had 5 and tried to keep up the standards she grew up with - at a time when they had several servants. But that is another story for another time.
When I got older, I had my long hair. And it was a lot of hair but super fine. I still have a lot of hair and it is superfine and now as then, there is not much you can do with it.
Then, I let it hang - now, that would drive me crazy.
And remember the curls? I always, always, always wanted curls. I was so jealous of anyone with a natural curl!!
Luckily or unluckily - depends how you look at it, there are ways to get that curls by putting heavy doses of chemicals on your hair - the crazy thing is that anything you put on your head is absorbed by your body very fast!
Way to go to support your health by adding tons of poison to a part of your body that just loves to drink it up - NOT>
Lucky for me, my hair is so fine and straight that no amount of chemicals made a curl stay in it. During the several tries, I did throughout my (long) life, I either ended up with hair still straight after hours of sitting in a chair (hate that) or being fried, still not really holding a curl and needing to be cut off.
Thank you for saving me from the regular application of crazy-ass poison on my head!!
