Self-imposed Boundaries

Very often "self-imposed boundaries" is seen in a negative light. But boundaries are necessary. Self-control is necessary. What I will do and what I won't do. Self restraint.

Life is dynamic and boundaries can become too restrictive according to time, place and circumstances. For that reason I need to reevaluate them from time to time. I may have "outgrown" the limits, like outgrowing clothing that has become too small.

Limits that may have been useful can become detrimental. Too restrictive. "Pick it up it's a rope." But then, "Put it down it's a snake."

It is a matter of adjusting boundaries so they do what they need to do. Provide safety from over reaching without restricting growth.

Boundaries are like anything else, a double-edged sword.
