Time and time again it had been said that go where you are valued. But leaving most times is not easy. More especially leaving a toxic relationship or marriage especially here in Africa where a woman without a man in her life is considered incomplete. A woman no matter how successful without a man by her side, is seen as lacking an essential quality required of every lady. For those who are married, they are made to believe that the man is always right and can get away with anything so they are taught "patience" and"endurance". They are taught that no matter what happens, they shouldn't leave their husbands else they won't be regarded by society. So with this sort of mentality, they bear all sorts of inhumane treatments and anyone who is bold enough to leave is shamed and she asks herself how she is going to leave a man that she has been with for maybe 5, 10 or even 20 years and how she's going to start all over. But it only takes the strong-willed to leave amidst all the fears without looking back.
Sort:

How about the husbands? It's fine for them to leave their wife?
Incomplete you are if you can't be yourself, if you are abused and taken for granted.

Courage is what it takes and realizing there's a better world without a bad relationship.
Thank you for your entry. 👍
