Por qué me acerco más a la naturaleza/Why I get closer to nature
If there is something I have made aware of with the pandemic situation we are living right now, is that we have been wrongly educated. We have developed over a long period of time an uncontrollable desire to acquire goods, objects, items, which in most cases we do not need.
Hoy, cuando estamos viviendo en cuarentena, nos hemos dado cuenta de que podemos desenvolvernos en un ambiente con menos cosas alrededor, más calmado, sin el alboroto y la bulla de la calle, sin tener que ir a las tiendas todos los días para ver en qué gastamos el dinero. Por el contrario, nos hemos enfocado más en nosotros mismos, en atender más a nuestro cuerpo y mente al ejercitarnos diariamente; en más en saber qué ocurre dentro de nosotros, qué queremos de la vida, qué esperamos de nosotros y de los demás, cómo hacer para ser más eficientes en los tiempos que vendrán.
Today, when we are living in quarantine, we have realized that we can get by in an environment with less stuff around, more calm, without the fuss and bustle of the street, without having to go to the shops every day to see what we spend the money on. On the contrary, we have focused more on ourselves, on taking more care of our body and mind as we exercise daily; on knowing more about what is going on inside us, what we want from life, what we expect from ourselves and from others, how to be more efficient in the times to come.
Nos volvimos consumidores compulsivos de cualquier cosa que nos permitiera mostrar que teníamos poder adquisitivo, que podíamos gastar a nuestras anchas, así nos hubiéramos tenido que endeudar para poder comprar lo innecesario. Hemos acumulado ropas que no usamos, zapatos que terminan en el piso del clóset. Y así, infinidad de cosas que lo único que hacen es ocupar espacio en nuestras casas.
We became compulsive consumers of anything that allowed us to show that we had purchasing power, that we could spend at our leisure, so we would have had to go into debt in order to buy the unnecessary. We have accumulated clothes we don't wear, shoes that end up on the closet floor. Thus, an infinite number of things that only take up space in our homes.
Tenemos que seguir descubriéndonos para desechar aquellas prácticas que son innecesarias para vivir. Es la ocasión perfecta para pensar más en el medioambiente y decir no al plástico que arrojamos a los mares; es el momento para proporcionarnos una dieta más sana, sin aditivos químicos, sin gas, sin colorantes. Es la oportunidad para compartir con nuestros seres queridos la dicha de saber que podemos transformarnos si cambiamos todo lo aprendido por nuevas maneras de ver el mundo, de cuidarlo, de respetarlo.
We have to keep discovering ourselves in order to discard those practices that are unnecessary for living. It is the perfect occasion to think more about the environment and to say no to the plastic we throw into the seas; it is the time to provide ourselves with a healthier diet, without chemical additives, without gas, without colorants. It is the opportunity to share with our loved ones the joy of knowing that we can transform ourselves if we change everything we have learnt into new ways of seeing the world, of caring for it, of respecting it.
También es la ocasión precisa para detallar más la naturaleza, ver las florecillas silvestres, los animalitos en las plantas, respirar con más calma ante un bello amanecer. Es el tiempo perfecto para cambiar y amar más a esta tierra, tan sometida, tan abusada, en nombre de un progreso y desarrollo sin límites, que solo la conducen a su destrucción.
It is also the precise occasion to approach more to nature, to watch the wild flowers, the little insects in the garden, to breathe with more calm before a beautiful dawn. It is the perfect time to change and express love for this land, so subdued, so abused, in the name of unlimited progress and development, which only leads to its destruction.
