make sure to participate this week as well :)

Congratulations @uthus2k, you are my winner for this week. I have the same experience you do when reading @wakeupkitty: is this real or fiction? It's a distinguishing characteristic of her freewrites. Good comment.

Thank you. 😁

Thank you for the sbi!

I have gone gaga for the work of @william8wayward since discovering him.

Here's a poem that shows how a molehill can become a mountain.

Or this one about what more can be given to someone who already has your heart? It sounds cheesy the way I just said it, but there was nothing cheesy at all about this poem. It was beautiful.

(please do not include me in your draw @mariannewest)

It really breaks my heart that someone could appreciate my writing so strongly.

Becuz I really enjoy writing.

I cannot tell whether this is a nomination for a contest or not but either way, owasco, please accept my continued thanks. 💙☘

Because I have chosen these two as my favorites this week, they will be included in @freewriters results of favorite freewrites contest along with the winners. Those who recommend freewrites are the contestants. Go enter yourself (today is the last day). YOu just have to leave a comment about your favorite freewrite of someone else's on that post, and you will be entered in a contest to win sbi. If you don't know what sbi is, let me know and I will try to explain it to you.

sbi stands for steem basic income. It is a service, they call it a social experiment, in which accounts can get automatic upvotes on most of their posts. I say most, because there is a limit to how much you can get in a week, and you post so often that it might not get to all of yours. (BTW, I have heard it said that posting more than 4 a day will get you flagged as spam)

The more shares of sbi you have, the larger the upvote. There are two ways to get sbi shares: buy them yourself, or someone buys them for you. But in both those cases, one steem buys two shares - one for the buyer and one for the buyer's chosen recipient. So when I, as a sponsor, award someone 3 sbi, I also get three sbi.

There has been some conflict around this practice. Some call it vote buying and think it should be verboten. But for me as a newbie, it made the difference between my staying on steem and leaving. All those zero payout posts at first, for months on end, got pretty demoralizing. When my posts started making 2 cent a post, I decided to stick around.

Then HF 20/21 came along with the upvote curve, and I wanted to leave again. That's another story entirely, and one I also don't really understand, but I do know it harmed the new, small accounts terribly.

Thank you for this valuable information. Yes I really have posted too much. That is something I'm trying to work on: reducing quantity, improving quality.

Once again, I appreciate you going out of your way to teach me so many things.

The writing of @owasco Freedom and Glory
Here we are told about a poet who is in prison, in gloomy conditions. He has learned to see life in a positive way and through his poems he shows how he enjoys simple things.
It really touched my heart, because he reminded me that where the spirit of God is there is freedom.

# 1 - please make it at least 50 words next time...

Oh, you're right, I apologize and thank you for the warning.

Thank you for updating!

I would be honored to nominate @cliffagreen for the following freewrite:

https://steemit.com/hive-161155/@cliffagreen/3f8f18-5-minute-freewrite-wednesday

I think he displays great skills, and I really like his description of "the joy of work." The whole piece up until the protagonist's fall into the pit is, in my opinion, a meditation on "the joy of work." I really appreciate this perspective, and I think that all writers should get their hands dirty in one way or another.

Thank you for this work

Thank you very much! The energy of work and enjoying it is central to this piece, even though it isn't really the 'point' I was working on. I guess I was just using it to illustrate how self-sabotage can be fun ... until the consequences. Not really the best analogy. I mean joy and the 'fun' of, for example, smoking until you fall into the pit of lung cancer, are not really analogous. ... I'm glad you found something meaningful that resonated with you. Thanks again for the recommendation.

thanks also for the elaboration

I think you probably earned those 2 sbi for this comment. I can't find the rewards announcement post though

I also participated in a few other contests in other communities. SBI was a supposed reward, but I never knew how to look for it.

It's a good thing to have, but your allotment, which depends on your numbers of shares, gets spread out over the week. You will want to do an sbi skip on most of your posts and concentrate your sbi upvote on only one or two. Oh so much to learn! But not to worry for now - you don't have enough to get a vote at all yet.

🙃Usually I don't like getting advice from others, but I really do appreciate your guidance on here. There really is so much to learn!
