Golden Desk...
I have seen this in a movie before, the character actually made a golden desk just to prove his worth and to show others he is wealthy. It is a form of investment also, if you look at it.
But having a golden desk is literal and at the same time it can be a figurative expression.
The literal meaning can be when a person construct a golden desk for himself in the real world, at least rich folks can do this to prove something.
But the figurative expression is when a desk is not golden literally but it is valuable and hereby referred to as golden to show it's worth.
Truly, a golden desk would be quite lovely to behold and expensive too but I will prefer the figurative use of a golden desk, it showcases more meaning to me than the literal meaning.
