A Long Deviation!

We did a prompt on not following the norm the other day, now it is a long deviation. Both of them are quite similar because they have to do with a separation or an opposite of the norm.

The norm is always expected to be the right thing to do, the moral and most civil thing to do. But this has not always been the case, the norm can sometimes be wrong and this has happened in recent times.

A long deviation is a deliberate diversion from the norm. The adverb long shows the extent of the deviation.

We should do what is right, take the right decisions, not just because of the norm but because it is the right thing to do. The norm can sometimes be wrong or political or maybe both.
