Trusting organized power -- A Freewrite

This is a pure freewrite. By that I mean I started writing and didn't stop for five minutes, using the Most Dangerous Writing App. There were no edits.

So many of us fear organized power. The irony is that fear has a tendency to attract that which we are afraid of. And as one of my friends on blockchain recently told me, 'trust elicits trust'.

So I wonder what would happen if all of us who fear being harmed by governments and corporations, instead extended a measure of trust to them?

What potential forward movement for humanity is being lost because we push back against the power of organization? Isn't collective action the most impactful?

What if we could trust the government? What if we would allow it to move forward? And the same with corporations?

We might see a more brilliant future.

I believe that the movement of humanity is toward an ever better future, even if we are at present walking, excuse the french, through the shit. Those steps we take are, I believe, moving us out of it.

I think that with covid measures and data sharing with tech companies will offer us opportunities that we haven't yet realized, if we can allow them to happen.

This is getting to be a long post and now I'm just writing to keep the app from destroying everything I've written up until now

So many days I decide not to do a freewrite, because I know, by the time I add a nice photo (usually one of my own, which will require some touch up and editing,) it's going to end up being an hour or two for a bit of text that, unless I revise and rethink (i.e., cheat), isn't really worth reading. Of course it isn't wrong to 'cheat' through a little revision, and I think I've ended up with some interesting content by going that route.

But why should I hold back from a pure, five-minute write up? It's costing the blockchain basically nothing in terms of resources to post it, and I get a nice writing exercise out of it.

That's the spirit this pure freewrite is offered in. Hopefully in the process I still provided some measure of meaningful content -- some food for thought, perhaps, or maybe a touchstone for discussion.
