#club5050|Understanding Rewards in steemit
Greetings to steemworld!
Most newbies when joining steemit think only about the financial rewards without knowing that when they dedicate themselves into learning and posting consistently, they build a reputation that has influence and can create impact in other people's posts through upvotes.
I've had few steemians asked me how the steemit rewards works. They're few tips to know about rewards as a whole.
Rewards appear in a post in one currency
Take a look at my rewards on this post! It looks pretty simple but I guessed it's not. All the rewards on our post and comments are displayed with an amount followed by a $sign. Yes offcourse that means US dollars (USD).
Rewards are paid in two currencies
The rewards, we have on our post which are shown with the $sign are paid or sent to our wallet in two currencies which are; steem dollars (SBD) and steempower (SP). This division is done when your default settings is set to 50/50. Whereas if you allow it on 100%, all your rewards will be in steempower.
If peradventure you click on update above , you will see other options where you can set 100% rewards Power during payouts.
Converting Rewards in all three currencies
Oh yes! Don't get complicated here🤔! It's pretty much simple, Though you get SBD and SP as rewards from post or comments and curation ( curation here means the upvote you do on others' posts)
And yes! There's a currency that remains and that's steem
Offcourse! Steem can be bought from the internal market against SBD. Here you login in your wallet and click on SBD, then select market. You pay SBD and get steem in your wallet.
In converting SP into SBD or steem, definitely you'll pass through a process usually refered to as * power down*. It decreases our influence and also the value of your upvotes.
When you initiate power down, SP is be converted Into steem and it takes a period of one month.
So to convert SP into SBD, firstly, you power down to steem and then market the steem for SBD in the currency market.
Now how are Rewards Shared
Do you know rewards are distributed between the authors and curators.
Remember! The amount seen on your post and comments are divided as follows.
75% at most of the amount seen on your post goes to the author ( that is you)
At most 25% of the remaining amount is shared amongst the curators, the people who upvoted you.
Important information about steemit rewards
Post payouts is 7days
All post or comments have a duration of 6 days and 12hours to get upvoted. If it's upvoted after 7days, sorry you won't get anything from it you know.
On the 7th day, rewards are finalized and sent to your wallet. If you've got some marketing skills like comments engagement you can start marketing your blog because if your comments are engaging in other people's posts, they'll definitely be hunger for more engaging post and definitely they'll visit your blog.
Value of upvotes
Do you know the value of upvotes comes from your steempower? No matter the amount of SP or SBD in your wallet it can not and will not have an effect on your upvote.
To make your votes to count, you should use that steem or SBD in your wallet to power up in other to earn from the author / curation rewards.
Frequently Power-ups
Weekly, I make sure I power up half of my earnings in order to maintain my club5050 status and also to increase my steem power.
Power up increases your steempower and make you earn well on curation rewards.
Conclusively, if you missed out in a quality post you wanted to upvote and you realized it's out of payout( maybe 8days), here's what you have to do! You can instead drop an engaging comment which draw the authors reactions to it and it can be voted and remember that's still a post and until the next 7days, you still have a chance of benefiting from upvotes.
Remember! To always engage in your comments because it might motivate someone.
Till my next post
Goodbye 🎉🎉🎉🌺
