Netflix Inc. is heading into the holidays with a slate full of highly anticipated series, Oscar-hopeful movies and a ton more Christmas movies and specials.
At the top of the list is “Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom” (Dec. 18), the late Chadwick Boseman’s last film and what is expected to be a major Oscar contender. Based on the play by August Wilson, Viola Davis stars as the iconic blues singer Ma Rainey, with Boseman playing her band’s trumpeter....

Looks like Netflix has some interesting stuff coming. In addition to Ma Rainey's Black Bottom, I think I'll also check out The Midnight Sky. Not sure what to make of Mank, but maybe I'll watch that, too.

It's amazing to think that when Netflix began its journey, many insisted that the idea would fail because it was too far outside of the box of what people understood to be as normal for film distribution.
