An Alternative To Artificial Intelligence - Super Human Intelligence

When people hear the word "artificial intelligence" some think of it to be a field that attempts to make man in his own image by man, that however isn't the case. Artificial intelligence attempts to mimic man's intelligence in external agents for the purpose of closing the gap in our make up that leads to our imperfections. But however there appears to be a popular belief that one day these intelligent agents could evolve to the point of resisting control from us and could lead to the end of the entire human race, as once suggested by the notable and late physicist Stephen Hawking.

Why not make ourselves super intelligent ?, Suggests some as a backup plan, in the sense that we merge ourselves with machines like Cyborg in the justice league franchise. This in modern times is termed the Brain-Computer interface and active research in this area has already begun, Billionaires such as Tesla's Elon Musk and Facebook's Mark Zuckerberg are at the forefront of this research as they are helping in the funding of the research. Apart from the fact that it gives us super intelligent abilities, it also has the possibility of treating certain disorders far more efficiently than chemical drugs.
