Friday June 24 is the best time to see a rare phenomenon, where the planets Mercury, Venus, Mars, Jupiter will align in sequence.

This is a rare occurrence, which only happens once every 18 years. It's a shame, if we pass it.

Without the need for a telescope, you Only need to look up at the sky with the naked eye, an hour before sunrise to see it.

According to several news sources, we can see this scene in various countries. In Indonesia, Malaysia and some countries located on the equator, may see it more clearly.

Actually this phenomenon occurs several times in June this year, but June 24 is estimated as the best time to witness it, because then the light of the waning crescent moon will be aligned with the fifth planet.

What do you need to prepare to see this phenomenon?

  • Set up an Alarm, set the time approximately one hour before sunrise.

  • Look to the south, because this rare sight will be seen in the south.

  • No need for a telescope, maybe to be able to see better you can just provide ordinary binoculars.

  • Camera, maybe it's enough with a smartphone camera with a good resolution. However, if you want to take the best pictures, please use a camera with a good telephoto lens.

Thanks for the heads-up. I wasn't aware that this was coming. I hope the skies are clear on Friday.

I think it's probably possible to get a photo with a cell phone, but a tripod might be needed and it might also be necessary to adjust the shutter speed and ISO setting manually. I might try. In the past, I have managed to get some fairly decent night time star photographs with a cell phone, a tripod, and manual setting adjustments.

Thank you very much for the note.

I also hope the weather is sunny.. hopefully we can get good photos and share them here.

I usually see these types of events on youtube, maybe one day I can see it in a different way
