With a glass of water in his hand, a psychology professor walked into the room. The pupils anticipated the standard inquiry, "Was it half full or half empty?" Yet, much to their surprise, he inquired as to the weight of the glass of water.

Moral Story (1).jpg

The students' responses ranged from 7 oz. to 25 oz. However, the professor retorted that holding the glass for a certain amount of time rather than its actual weight with water often makes a difference.

You won't notice much weight if you hold the glass in your hand for a minute. Yet, you will feel a little more weight if you hold for 10 minutes, and it gets heavier for you over the course of hours.

Your hands would become sore and numb if you held it for the full day. The same is true when you carry stress around. It won't be a problem if you give it some thought for a little while and then move on, but if you give it much thought, it will start to bother you. If you let it bother you while you sleep, it will get worse.

The lesson here is to learn to let go of your worries and never go to sleep worrying. Do it if you can if you have the power to. In the alternative, just ignore it and focus on your goals; otherwise, you'll lose productivity.
