Gobies braised with pepper, chili

This type of dish is considered as a popular dish in Vietnam family meals. Gobies can be cooked in many ways: Gobies braised with pepper, chili; fried crispy gobies, steamed gobies, roasted gobies with sugar, .Studded with loads of gobies and peppers, and a lightly spiced molasses sauce, this braised fish and shrimp recipe feels—and tastes—exceedingly fancy with zero fuss..For this traditional style of braising, seasoned fish would be put into a pan and cooked until the broth boils. Delicious and healthy doesn’t get any better! You don’t have an excuse not to try this recipe during your busy week! This dish is served with hot or cold rice is still delicious.

Ingredient:

  • Molasses
  • Soy sauce
  • Gobies
  • Chili
  • Shrimp
  • Fish sauce
  • Garlic
  • Pepper
  • Cooking oil
  • Seasoning

Step 1:

Rinse fish and shrimp with vinegar and wash off with water and pat dry
In a hot pan with oil, fry the minced garlic until golden. Add two tablespoons of fish sauce, two thirds of a tablespoon of molasses, a teaspoon of black pepper, 1 chili. Cook until the broth turns light brown. . Fish sauce bolsters the savoriness, but can be left out, salt can be substituted.

Step 2:

When the broth is boiled, put the fish, shrimp into the pan, and turn it over so that it is shrunk and has the colour of caramel , the brais juices thicken until gloriously sticky(or cook on small fire for around 20 minutes). This helps the sauce into the fish and shrimp. Season to taste and then add seasoning. It is not a luxurious delicacy, but it warms the heart of the expatriates living in a foreign country. Serve with a side dish, such as a green salad, tofu or rice.
