Hilsa fish is a Famous Bengali fish and also called white gold of Bangladesh. The population of hilsa- the country's national fish.

Bangladesh has two kinds of Hilsa. Tenualosa ilisha and Tenualosa toli ilisha. Hilsa fish found in the marine and fresh waters of Bangladesh and famous species which known as Padma Ilish is called Tenualosa Ilisha.
