Catharanthus roseus

I like this flower a lot but there has always been a question about this flower since I was little, since here in Venezuela it is widely known by the name puticas; So I was investigating and I realized that it has many names and one of them is, as I have always known it, the putica flower. As you can see in the photos, there are two types of them, they are the same but they change in color. These ones that I found are a fuchsia in the white center and there are the complete white ones, the most common colors are white, pink and fuchsia.

Learning a little about this flower I learned that its scientific name is Catharanthus roseus; It is an endemic species and native to Madagascar. It is a very striking flower, its leaves are oval in shape and bright green. It is also known for occurring widely in subtropical and tropical areas. They are very resistant to being born without almost nutrients and in drought. The truth is I understand better because everywhere in any garden there is always one of these putica flowers.

But I show you its other denominations that; By the way, there are many depending on the country where you are. First of all, its first name is Dominicana de Cuba, flower of the prince, don't leave me, don't forget me, yerba doncella de java. This is truly surprising! I had never imagined these various names of this flower.
