Whole wheat grain vegan biscuits
Actually word cookies used in America and in British English, the term biscuit refers to a small, baked, unleavened cake, which is typically crisp, flat, and sweet.
As I feel I would say cookies are thick and soft, generally sweet in taste. Where biscuits are thin and crisp and may be sweet or salty.
So today I baked biscuits which were, thin crisp and sweet. These biscuits are whole wheat flour biscuits.
The recipe is very simple
Ingredients-
Whole wheat flour 550 gms
Vegetable oil(odourless, I used rice bran oil) 280 gms
Powdered sugar 150 gms
Cardamom powder 1 tsp
Vanilla 1 tsp
Baking powder 2 tsp
salt 1/2 tsp
Water 125 ml or little more if required.
Procedure-
- Add powdered sugar, cardamom powder, vanilla essence, baking powder, salt and water into the oil and mix with the help of hand blender. Mix till it becomes fluffy.
- Now add wheat flour and make a soft dough.
- Roll the dough and cut into desired shape.
- In a preheated oven at 180 degrees bake for about 20 minutes, till it become golden brown.
- Cooldown to room temperature and enjoy these vegan biscuits.
