The Sumatran tiger is a tiger that has the smallest size compared to other tiger subspecies. The Sumatran tiger has the darkest color of all tiger subspecies, with its black patterns being wide and closely spaced and also overlapping.

Adult male Sumatran tigers have an average length from head to foot or around 250 cm, weigh around 140 kg, and have a body height of up to 60 cm. The average female is about 198 cm long and weighs about 91 kg.

REPRODUCTION

Sumatran tigers are ready to mate when they are 3-5 years old, with the gestation period lasting 3-4 months. In one birth a female tiger can give birth to 1-3 cubs.

BEHAVIOR

Tigers are animals that like to be alone (solitary), the only long-term relationship is between the mother and her offspring. Tigers are most active at night, when their prey is most active, however tigers can be active at any time of the day. Tigers are also excellent climbers, they use their claws and strong legs to climb trees.

Jungle, Rainforest, Savannah, Bush
