Hello everyone, back again with me @captainkribo, how are you all, I hope you are fine. This time I will share a good way to take photos of your favorite black dog, along with a review.;

It's not your imagination. Black dogs are challenging to photograph. Here are some tips to help you take better photos of your black dog.

  1. Golden Hour

Try photographing your dog an hour or two before sunset. The light is often softer and more inviting during this “golden hour.” The grass and trees also look very dramatic at this time.
Right after sunrise can also be used, but perfect light only lasts about half an hour in the morning.

  1. Shade

It's counterintuitive, but shadow is better than full sun for photographing black feathers. I took this portrait of Ivan, a Russian Black Terrier, while the sun was hot, but we placed him in the shade. This allows the feathers to retain detail but not contrast too much with the shadows.

Black feathers appear too dark in full sunlight. Even though it may seem like you should add more light, shade is the solution!

Direct your dog's eyes toward the light.
This idea combines the idea of shooting in the shade but takes it to the next level by adding dimension to the eye. The small sparkle in the eye is called a catchlight. Reflected sunlight helps prevent the eyes from looking like black holes.

  1. Adjust your iPhone exposure.

When you photograph a dark subject, your phone's camera may not capture the image properly. In those situations, you can use exposure compensation to increase or decrease the brightness for your dog.
Here's how to set exposure on an iPhone.

• Tap the screen to display yellow boxes for the autofocus area and exposure settings.
• Next to the focus area, drag up or down to adjust exposure.

  1. Pay attention to the background.

Black feathers have a way of disappearing into the shadows. To prevent this, consider a bright or colorful background. I think black dogs go really well with red dogs.

  1. Invest in a Reflector.

I often use studio lights when photographing black dogs. Professional lighting equipment is expensive, so you might try reflectors. Collapsible light reflectors are inexpensive and can bounce light onto your dog's face. Often they are 5-in-1, meaning they have white, silver, and gold options. Play around and see which side of the reflector gives you the best results.

LED lights work too. Do you have a ring light that you use for Zoom calls? Try it on your dog and see if his fur shines.

Practice makes perfect!
Try lots of different angles and times of the day. My first dog was a black lab mix, and I had a lot of practice photographing him.
