Greetings friends!

This is the first day of May this year. Likewise in previous months, I powered up my #steem accounts once again on this day for the sake of participating in #spud, i.e. steem power up day. I powered up my steemit account a you can see in the following screenshot.

Now I have about 2877 steem power. This is going good. I have a target to increase it over 4000 SP by the end of this year.

This is also the international labour day. Lots of people lost their lives and many suffered excruciating pain, tortures and had to sacrifice a lot to get their rights. With the starting of the industrial revolution a very bad time for the labourers also begun. They had to work in factories till dawn to night. Sometimes, 16 hours continuously without any break and there was no Sundays and holidays for them. Even the little children had to work in factories same as adults had to do. Later things changed when thousands of labourers died demanding their rights and Then they were given rights like fixed working hours, bonuses, social securities, holidays, more salary, maternity leave for working women, pension after retirement, medical facilities etc.

These rights are under threat because of changing global economies and political environment. In every country, such rulers are in power who work for the rich industrialists and corporate. They frame policies which may suit their masters. That's why for the white collar workers, duty hours are not fixed. Hire and fire policies are being adopted in mass scale and social securities being curtailed by the governments. That's why it has become important for the public to protect their rights. Otherwise, it will lead to the repetition of the slavery which had ended to a great extent in the past.
