Hello everyone, come back with me in this post I will discuss hedgehogs.

Hedgehogs are small mammals that are famous for their sharp, hard hairs that can cover their bodies to protect themselves from predators. They are primarily found in Asia, Africa, and Europe, with various species occurring in a variety of habitats such as rainforests, grasslands, and savannas.

One of the main characteristics of hedgehogs is their hard hairs called "quills". These quills are structures composed of hardened protein and are very sharp. Hedgehogs use these quills to defend against predators by rolling their bodies so that the quills spread out, making them difficult to eat or attack. Some hedgehog species may also throw their quills at predators as additional defense.

In general, hedgehogs are nocturnal animals, being active at night to avoid daytime heat and greater predation. They eat a wide variety of foods, including insects, fruit, eggs, and even other small animals. Most hedgehogs are insectivores, which helps control insect populations in their habitat.

In addition to quills, porcupines have strong legs with sharp nails for foraging and climbing. They also have a good sense of smell to detect food and danger around them. Although porcupines have strong defensive capabilities through their quills, they also sometimes fall prey to predators such as tigers, lions and large snakes.

In the wild, hedgehog habitats are often threatened by habitat loss and illegal hunting. However, some porcupine species, such as the Asian tree porcupine, are protected by law and conservation efforts to maintain their populations.

With their unique adaptations involving sharp quills and the ability to curl themselves up, porcupines have survived as interesting and important animals in their ecosystem. Although sometimes threatened by human activities, conservation efforts continue to protect and ensure the survival of hedgehogs in the wild.
