The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) Ready to Help Victims of Beirut Lebanon Explosion
The Indonesian Red Cross (PMI) will help victims of the huge explosion that rocked Beirut, Lebanon on Tuesday, August 4, 2020 afternoon. Thousands of people were reported injured as a result of the incident.
PMI General Chairman Jusuf Kalla said that his party had prepared 500 to 1,000 blood bags for the residents of Beirut who were victims of the explosion.
"PMI will collect 500 to 1,000 bags of blood in one or two days," he said, Wednesday (5/8).
In addition to sending blood bags, PMI also accepts donors who wish to donate blood for the victims of the Beirut explosion at each UTD in every province in Indonesia.
According to the Central PMI Secretary General Sudirman Said explained that his party was open to donors who wanted to participate.
"Welcome to come to the Blood Transfusion Unit (UTD) in each Province throughout Indonesia," he concluded.
Inaugurate the Board of Honor and Management of PMI DKI
The DKI Jakarta Province PMI has carried out the 12th Provincial Consultation (Musprov) in 2020 on July 15, 2020, and successfully selected the DKI Jakarta Provincial Board for the 2020-2025 Period with Chairman Rustam Effendi.
The DKI Jakarta PMI Provincial Board is inaugurated by the Chairperson of the Central PMI, Jusuf Kalla and the Governor of DKI Jakarta Province, Anies Rasyid Baswedan at the DKI Jakarta City Hall.
"I expect the Management to carry out their duties to the maximum extent to carry out the work program of DKI Jakarta PMI which is guided by the PMI Statutes / Articles of Association, Vision-Mission, and PMI Strategic Plan," JK said.
He reminded, in carrying out humanitarian tasks requires hard work and participation from all parties.
"Therefore, to all ranks of Managers to be able to carry out this mandate to the best of their ability," he said.
Meanwhile, Anies hoped that under the command of Rustam Effendi, PMI DKI could continue the program that had been carried out by the previous management, and be able to correct the shortcomings and perfect the program that had been carried out previously.
"Hopefully the Chairperson of the PMI DKI Jakarta Province and its staff can carry out this noble duty well, and always develop a broad humanitarian mission in DKI Jakarta. I hope that PMI can always provide the best service, so that it can lift and maintain the image of PMI in the country "Especially in the DKI Jakarta area," said Anies.
