Jupiter is also known as a giant gas planet. Scientists research to find out what temperature the planet Jupiter is.

Quoted by Space Place, scientists think Jupiter's core may have a temperature of around 43,000 ° Fahrenheit or 24,000 ° C. Scientists say it could be that Jupiter has a solid core that is larger than Earth. Some scientists also think Jupiter's core will be more like boiling hot water.

Almost all of Jupiter's contents are made up of hydrogen and helium. On Jupiter's surface (and on Earth) the elements are gas.

However, in Jupiter hydrogen can be a liquid or even some kind of metal. These changes occur due to outside temperature and pressure at the core. The weight of hydrogen and helium is so heavy that it presses down on the planet's core, creating high pressure.

As a result, the molecules run out of space to bounce off, so they slow down and stick together to create a liquid.
