Grandmasters Jan Gustafsson, Peter Leko and International Master Tania Sachdev commentate on Day 2 of the Lindores Abbey Rapid Challenge Final, the culmination of the 12-player rapid tournament starring World Chess Champion Magnus Carlsen.
Lindores Abbey in Scotland was a centre of culture and learning for several centuries. The monks studied philosophy, music and literature whilst educating the community and the historic records show that they even played chess!


Daniil Dubov

Is a Russian chess grandmaster. He achieved his final norm for the Grandmaster title at the age of 14 years, 11 months, 14 days in 2011. He is the previous world rapid champion, winning the World Rapid Chess Championship held in Saint Petersburg from 26 to 28 December 2018.
In 2019 Dubov was selected as the Organizer's Nominee for the FIDE Grand Prix 2019, a stage in qualification for the World Chess Championship 2020. Dubov was enrolled in the Moscow event, the first of four tournaments for the 2019 Grand Prix cycle. The Moscow tournament was a 16-player event, with Dubov being the lowest ranked participant. After an upset victory over the highest ranked player, Anish Giri, Dubov was eliminated from the Moscow Grand Prix tournament in the quarter-finals by American grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura.


Hikaru Nakamura

He is a five-time United States Chess Champion, who won the 2011 edition of Tata Steel Chess Tournament Group A and represented the United States at five Chess Olympiads, winning a team gold medal and two team bronze medals. He has also written a book about bullet chess called Bullet Chess: One Minute to Mate.
In late May, Hikaru participated in the Moscow FIDE Grand Prix tournament, which is part of the qualification cycle for the 2020 World Chess Championship. The tournament was a 16-player event. Nakamura defeated grandmasters Teimour Radjabov and Daniil Dubov but lost to grandmaster Alexander Grischuk in the semi-final match.
