the 8th Chronicle

Chronicle 8 tells of the arrival of Spring Fires and the melting of the White Water Blankets that had covered the Land through the turning of five moons.

When the Eastern Fields were green again, we held Dances for five days and five nights. The Witch Enschantara sang Spirit Choruses for us to dance to. All of our blood -- the men, the women -- it roiled like field-fires across the hills and valleys.

On the first night of Dances, the Law made an announcement. This announcement he proclaimed with the full backing of Strykos's legendary sword:

"I herby state that all members of the great community of Virtigia shall now be called "men" or "women." No longer shall any man or woman be called "hind." Members of the Conscript shall still be respectfully addressed as "elders."

After five days and five nights of Dances, we held two days of Feasting. On the second night, near the end of the feast, the Witch Enschantara held the very first Theatre of Spirit. Her pupil worked closely along side her to achieve this.

Daisies were budding in the Eastern Fields.
