in Steemit City3 years ago

Hello beautiful people of Steemit City, l am glad to participate in this very contest, so today I am going to show/tell us how I prepare my "egusi soup"
Egusi soup is one of the main soup among Nigerians irrespective of your tribe or future, you can either eat your egusi soup with rice, pounded yam, garri, fufu, Amala, wheat or semovita , but in this very post I am eating my egusi soup with garri

There are different method of cooking egusi soup
1,The frying method:this involves frying your grinded egusi(melon) with red oil before adding it water.

2, the boiling method:this involves cooking your egusi (melon) without frying it.
But in this very post I am using the frying method

ingredients for the soup
2 cups of egusi(melon)
Handfull of fresh pepper
One small onions
Handfull of crayfish
Local spice (okpeyi)
2 cooking spoon of red oil
Fresh fish
Red meat
Salt
Bitter leaf
2cube of knor Maggi (seasoning)
Small head of stockfish

Procedures
Firstly I have to wash my hands with liquid soap because I am just coming back from the market,

after that I wash my meat, kpomo and stockfish with salt and hot water, then I steam it with two seasoning cubes, salt, onions, and water, but before I add me kpomo I will cut it into pieces

I have already grind my egusi(melon),fresh pepper, and crayfish in the market,

so I will just pour it inside a tray and cut some onion in it so that it won't get burnt while frying it,

10 minutes later I checked my meat they are well cooked, I will then bring it down and put my empty pot on fire, add my red oil and wait for it to get hot before adding my egusi,

I fried it untill I get my desired taste, then I add the water I used in steaming the meats,
